The Western Republic Air Force (WRAF) is the national air force of the Western Republic. Founded in 1914, the Western Republic Air Force is the world's second largest air force, with a total fleet of roughly 8,000 aircraft, as well as roughly 200,000 active personnel.

History[]

The Western Republic Air Force was founded in 1914, and is the world’s oldest air force. As aviation was becoming more and more popular in the Western Republic in the years since the Wright Brothers first flight, the government made the decision that airplanes could be used for military combat.

The first major conflict the Western Republic Air Force participated in was World War I, most notably the Western-Mexican front.

The Western Republic Air Force played a key role in World War II, as the Western Republic Air Force was responsible for the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Pacific War and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki proved that the Western Republic Air Force was a very strong and possibly the powerful entity of the Western Republic Military.

The Western Republic Air Force participated in many events during the Cold War, most notably the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The Western Republic Air Force have also been involved in major conflicts after the Cold War, including the Persian Gulf War, and the War on Terror.

Aircraft[]

The Western Republic Air Force has a total of around 7,000 aircraft, including roughly 6,500 manned aircraft, 1,000 unmanned aircraft, 300 ICBMs, and 200 satellites.

Out of all the 8,000 aircraft in the Western Republic Air Force's fleet, the two most important aircraft would be Air Force One and Air Force Two. Air Force One is the nickname for the Boeing 747-8, which transports both the President and Vice President of the Western Republic to international destinations. Air Force Two is the nickname for the Boeing 757-200, which transports both the President and Vice President to destinations inside the Western Republic, or to regional destinations in North America. While Air Force One and Air Force Two are the nicknames for both of these aircraft, the callsign Air Force One is used for any flight carrying the President, with or without the Vice President, and the callsign Air Force Two is used for any flight carrying the Vice President, only without the President. Air Force One was delivered in 2019 to replace the aging former Air Force One, which was a Boeing 747-200. Air Force Two is set to be replaced in 2022, as its replacement, a Boeing 737 MAX 10, is scheduled to be delivered by that year.
