It is the dawn of a new millennium, but the previous era did not go gently into the pages of history books. The War of the Three Kingdoms rages on in Korea, tables are flipped over in the Holy War against the Hassanids, the Holy Roman Empire watches as France crashes and burns, and the status quo begins to change in many areas.

I, Sidewinder291102 and TheSteampunkTotoro (and TheCreator901), welcome you, to Konig des Menschen Chapter V: Conquest (KdM V). Starting in 1000 AD, this is an era of civilization of and history in which stories of crusaders and kings are made. The road to greatness is paved now, Can you become the King of Men?

Credentials:

Sidewinder291102: I am the creator of Fractured, Honour and Patient which lasted 10, 22 and 21 turns respectively, as well as moderator in many a map game on this site and elsewhere.

TheSteampunkTotoro: I have been a moderator, NPC maker and Map Maker in a handful of minor map games. I also created the map game Post Mortem: Europa which was rather unsuccessful, But I took the role of acting Admin in the KdM franchise roughly halfway through KdM Chapter II, which ran for a whopping 37 turns!

TheCreator901: The first game I have ever administered was Continent of Darkness: Europe, which was successful until its end. KdM was the second and most successful of my games yet lasting for 27 turns. I created the KdM franchise and ran it until roughly halfway through Chapter II.

Batran99:I have participated in map games since the first map game on the wiki came out. I was manager, eventmaker, and held other staff positions for many major map games whom had found success and influence on how other map games are run, such as map games in The Future series (which I introduced the basic 4 sections for every turn; Military, Diplomacy, Government, and Economy) or Pandemic: Plague Z, along with countless others. I had helped advised for and wrote lore of many others such as a Bad Past or Delirium. Regarding KdM; I was involved as a player little after its creation, but didn't get deeply involved in events until later in KdM Chapter I or II.

Turns[]

Turn XLI: 1375 AD - 1380 AD []

KdM1375-1380A

Great People & Events[]

  • Horseman of Famine: The Altaic Empire has made peace with Joseon on current borders. Though, the war has emptied the coffers of the small kingdom, and those on the front refuse to end the war. This led to a split in the Kingdom of Joseon, with Joseon (maybe into several factions) itself on OTL Korean borders, while the rest in the north still continues to fight as "(Jo)jochuria" or "Jochureon" still Korean.
  • Ashen Lion (Part 7): Early in the year of 1377, the siege of Galway is victorious for Albionic forces despite a number of defeated assaults. The city stubbornly falls to Albionic hands as it became street to street fighting. With the fall of Galway, the remainder of Gaelic forces surrendered (though there are still raids). With that, asides from a few islands, the British Isles is pretty much united under a diarchy between Queen Artoria II and Queen River I. As the theatre on the isles closes, the constant skirmishes between France, Albion, and Valcanor may be dealt with soon enough by River Mordue, who taken it upon herself to deal with the remaining threats to the Kingdom. Fiete, who was in charge of forces during the Irish campaign have already founded her own branch of the Roundtable that has influence in the more northern regions of Europe.
  • The German Discordance: Several rivalries between minor and major states had fueled the hatred between German noble houses. The HRE had never been "unified" in any way, but now after the Great Pestilence, all the little things that had held it together, had faded away, with many seeing the alliance as just a way for Westria to control all the other states and abuse them for protection and tribute, whilst giving back nothing. Infighting began to be commonplace, where war became once again part of everyday life. Some states saw this idiocy and decided to defect from the Alliance. The Italian states defect from the alliance and form their own political ties. Some states in change, like Luxembourg, Antwerpen, Liege, Amsterdam and Brussels join France, either by their own will or by the ominous political aura of the great blue blob.
  • War of Chioggia: A conflict between Genoa and Venice which started in 1378. It was a part of the Venetian-Genoese Wars. The war had mixed results. Venice and her allies won the war against their Italian rival states, however is losing the war against Westria and Eskos. Westria occupies northern Italy, intending to end the way with access to the Mediterranean sea via Trieste. Eskos shares the same sentiment with Westria, although they annexed Dardania in the process of the war.
  • Statement of the Patriarch: The Patriarch of Constantinople, Macarius decides to stay in the city although told by most of his advisors to leave. He says that he will stay in the city, and will not flee in the face of a pagan threat and that it'd be a sacriledge to surrender so easily. This statement brings hope to the citizens and soldiers of the city.
  • A Small Dosage Of Death: It was a miracle that this didn't happen so soon. Disease or sicknesses such as small pox was migitated by limited trade. But those who traded directly with the former Europeans in Elysia or Atlantis would find a fraction of their population declining due to disease lurking around in shadows unnoticed until now.
  • Troubles in Osnerol: Contact with settlers resulted in a portion of the population dying of disease, and growing for every contact. Importation of outsider culture is welcomed by some, but general Osnerol culture is unaffected and causes those to question enthusiasts of abandoning traditional culture in favor of outsiders rather than focusing on just improving life. Their way of life feels threatened and they argue that hundreds of years should not be taken lightly (within a few). Does not help to stoke fears when people are dying from direct contact. The war with a neighbor is only a mere distraction for now.
  • The King of the Eastern Tribes: For centuries Vinland had never had a true leader, the nation consisting of Earls and Grand Chieftains who protected their own lands, fought with or against each other, but now had come a time of change. Keean Amaiqkinsson, the son of the earl of Beul Munnurin and the princess of Úrlöndun, two of the most powerful Earldoms in the realm. His grandfather was an Amaiqac and his father hence named Amaiqkin. Keean brought with him dreams of expansion and greatness. Vinland, a collection of mixed tribes and cultures, now had a true leader and many outsiders named Keean "The King of the Eastern Tribes".
  • Timur the Lame (Part 2): the Qarshid Empire conquers Keqi Khanate, Khorasan, Hormuz Azarkhate, Aenastan and have made an attempt on Kandri but failed due to mountainous terrain. The Urdek Khanate also becomes a tributary state.
  • Distrust in the Emperor: Several noble families of the HRE begin to worry about the growing political power of Westria, especially with the marriage to Boiheim. Many fear this could unite the two nations into one, making Westria by far the strongest nation in the alliance.
  • Raiders of the Plains: As Kickapoo and Kemahana begin expanding their area of influence, they begin raids on the nearest pickings. Kemahana horsemen ride down to the Aztec Empire and terrorize borderlands. Recently, a significant attack on Guamuchil had caused unrest in the peripheral regions of the Empire, as did a subsequent Kickapoo raid on Tamtoc. Caddo was also subject to Kickapoo raids.
  • Dancing Plague: From 1374 to sometime in 1376, there was a European-wide phenonemon when people started dancing in the streets. The dancing mania was not an isolated event, and was well documented in contemporary reports. It was nevertheless poorly understood, and remedies were based on guesswork. Often musicians accompanied dancers, due to a belief that music would treat the mania, but this tactic sometimes backfired by encouraging more to join in. There were rumors that some leaders responded by joining in the dancing, such as Queen River I of Britain (River Mordue). Some other leaders responded negatively or with alarm, there was a case that Queen Artoria II of Britain splashing water on people to get them to stop dancing.

NPC Turns[]

  • Vinland: The settling of the Amhach (Throat) river continues with the settling of Eyjasgaradh where two rivers intertwine to become the Amhach. The population of Vinland blooms with the slave labour brought from Elysia and the women taken from there. They also reclaim the island of Eyja-Aran. Vinlander explorers found their way following the Velinda (Esophagus) to a great lake, which they named Beul-Maga, the Great Belly.
  • Svartheim: They cannot enter into a war with Atouman, as they are still fighting Haemus and recovering from the civil war. They despise the Atoumans, but can not take military action against them yet. They capture Pristen and raze a large portion of Brizimum, forcing Haemus on it's knees again, vassalizing the state once again. They split the state with Escosia, Escosia getting the north and Svartheim taking the South. The occupation is recorded in history as a brutal part of the history of the region, where Svartheim would act like Rome, crushing rebellions and meetings of ill intentions without mercy.
  • Atoumans: They stubbornly fought in the eastern front for a while, managing to use the land to their advantage against the lesser experienced Isetian troops, who have known more about land flatter than the ones they are normally used to. However, by the end of the decade, the Isetium troops may manage to find an opening and push inwards, as Atouman troops pull back a little. Though Atoumans find more success against Chaldea in Sinope.
  • Urdek Khanate: the village of Bulibaliq was a village that started out as a bazaar and was settled by Daevite soldiers who escaped Europe, named after Bulijin Khatun and the mongol word “Balik” meaning city (located in modern day Garabogaz). It grew into a small port town thanks to it being the center of trade in the Caspian Sea. It is also known for being the center of an escape route for refugees from the dying Altaic Empire to the Golden Horde section itself.
  • Avaria: They absorb the western part of Syd-Vedena (from somewhat east of Lviv to west), inviting Vedena to do the same to the eastern part.
  • Byzantium: They go bankrupt, unable to sustain their army of mercenaries they built up to match the Atoumans. After going into a large amount of debt to the merchant republics, the Byzantines are forced to sell Naxos and Euboea to Venice and Rhodes to Genoa in order to maintain good trade relations. However, they were important trading ports. Epirus becomes independent as well.
  • Escosia: They invade Haemus, capturing Sirmium to help end the war between the Balkan states to help create a more unified front against the Atoumans.
  • Golden Horde: They see minimal success against Vedena, losing rural regions slowly. Peace is made with the Komi after nothing happening between the two powers in decades. The generals in charge of fighting the Yin-Tsu and Georgia fail to see success on their fronts.
  • Georgia: They capture Maikop and siege Astrakhan.
  • Inkeri: They begin an invasion of the Golden Horde, capturing Murom and rural lands between Zhana and Sura-Sitan and Ridslau.
  • Boiheim: The royal family accepts the marriage proposal.
  • Ifari: The kingdom refuses to submit and bolsters it's armies.
  • Adal: They agree to improve relations.
  • Hiraga-koku: They agree to unify with Nagasato, forming the Syonan Nikun-shu (二君主) (dual monarchy). It is also noted that there is slight confusion as to what the Philippines is, as no location had ever been called by that name throughout history.

    • Sultan: Umar Ali Sadiiq (B 1330, alive) (R 1365 - Present)
    • Dynasty: Sadiiq
  • Economy: The economy of Sumali is based on mostly on trade, agriculture and fishing. Trade especially is important since Sumali operates in the vast trade network across the Indian Ocean. Sumali trades things such as gold, wax and ivory and Sumali merchants go everywhere from the Arabian peninsula to India and rarely all the way to Southeast and East Asia. Sumali also participates in the vast Arabian slave trade, selling slaves to mainly the states of Yemen, Al-Qarsoon and the Ahuric Empire. The Sumali Sultanate uses gold coins as currency.

    • Naval: 2 of our galleys and 1 transport ship are sent into the Bab-el-Mandeb strait towards Fagal, as a distraction to try and indicate a naval invasion, while we really are only invading on land.
  • Military: Ca 1% of our population is our available manpower that we can deploy for warfare, thus being ca 8 000 man.
    • Deployed units: All

  • Events:
    • Western Expansion: Expansion and integration of Kushite tribes is done through Zoroastrian missionary work as well as attempting to convince them to join. No military action or direct annexation is made to avoid angering them. They are the same as us after all.
    • Connecting the Cities: Al-Bahr, Hawiyabad and Al-Joonoobiya's roads are worked upon to connect to the Egyptian-Aethiopian Silk Road. The roads and trails connecting Hawiyabad to Mogadishu are also improved.
    • Interest in Soqotra: Soqotra, the archipelago belonging to Al-Qarsoon with the city of Tamreda, becomes a place of interest in Sumali's eyes as it could be a very important port in terms of our interest in the trade moving across the Indian Ocean.
    • Mapping out the Indian Ocean: Some navigators, sailors and map makers are sent to map out important ports and parts of the Indian Ocean.

Lepai Confederacy/ Dinetah[]

Government: Tribal Confederation

  • Binanit’a’i: Hashkeh Naaba

Economy: Being a Semi-Nomadic people we farm maize, beans, and squash around the more fertile land around the San Juan river and Rio Grande. Much of the population are hunter-gatherers though. Buffalo is a significant part of Lepai life, though they are less significant to us than they are to the Plains Indians. We also mine Turquoise, which is a good that Mesoamericans prize dearly.

Ceremonial Capital: Ni Alnii’gi (Monument Valley)

De Facto Capital: Tota' Haal'a (Farmington)

Demographics:

  • Population: 6,100
    • Tota' Haal'a: 450
  • Ethnic Makeup: 90% Lepai (Southern Athabaskan), 10% Other
    • Religion: 100% Lepai Folk Religion

Military: No standing army, but we have 1,500 warriors who we are able to use in case of a war.

Events:

  • Rapid Expansion: All land between the four holy peaks are incorporated into our Confederacy, while we expand along the Rio Grande to OTL Albuquerque. To control these lands, we construct "Kinhoodzo" (Border-Houses) in newly incorporated villages of more than(most of the villages we take are ethnically Lepai, because the Anasazi are basically dead).
  • Nihiitah: The concept of Nihiitah (literally "our land") begins to be established. While it generally refers to land owned by the Lepai Confederacy, it also refers to a mythical land far to the south which is described surrounding a lake, where the Hero Twins rid the world of the original Wechuge.
  • Those who came before us: Finding more and more Anasazi and Pueblo ruins, a mythology begins to develop about the ones who built these structures. Common belief is that they were built by the Diyin Dine (Holy People) who inhabited this land before our migration from Canada.
  • Military Info: We begin to make armor out of cotton, like the Aztecs. Because we mostly fight on horseback, traditional clubs and hammers are not sufficient in reach, resulting in us prefering spears or bows and arrows.

Diplomacy:

  • Kemahana: Stay on that side of the rocky mountains and we’ll be great neighbors. Also, you know those white fluffy animals (sheep)? Can we have some of those?

Kingdom of Lustria | 'The Eternal Kingdom of the Lizard Gods'[]

      • Omako ([M] 1280-1352, r. 1331-1352)
      • Krokezal ([M], b. 1320, r. 1352)
    • Dynasty:
      • Urchannkian (1275-1361)
      • Krokezian (1361-)
    • Capital: Amekrog
  • Economy: The economy has shifted a lot after the death of Urgoka and the inauguration of Mortal Bearer pretender Krokezal to be the leader again. Trading by now is much focused on the Arawak and the Tremembe people as access to the Tupi people within the deep Amazon region has been cut off by Khorne cultists, thanks to Urgoka's demands to let Khorne cultists have their own kingdom.  Shrines and temples within the remainder of Lustria would begin accepting any food or tribute to any of the Lizard Gods recognised by the Krokanist faith, the 'reformed' part of the Lustrian folk religion. Any type of food would do, except meat, which is forbidden due to connotations of Khorne's sacrifice of meat as being worshipping Khorne.
  • Demographics:
    • Population: 45 000
      • Amekrog: 1 600
      • Osbme: 400

      • Kelo: 30
      • Turon: 40
      • Rest is just rural or other villages
    • Religion: 45% Lustrian folk religion, 3% Arawak folk religion, 50% Krokanist (a 'reformed' Lustrian religion with a more centralised belief system), 2% Cult of Khrone (primarily in western Lustria, Khorn'kor)
    • Culture/Ethnicity: 90% Lustrian, 7% Arawak, 3% Tremembe
  • Military: After the death of Urgoka, many of the Khorne cultists would be expelled from the military. Urgoka's organised military and recruitment strategy would remain, however there is nothing of importance in Lustria that has changed warrior tradition, not at least for the next two centuries.
    • Army: (number clamped down by cultist massacre)
      • 50 'Lizard Warriors' (clubmen with wooden with 'sparsely metallic' shields)
      • 150 'Rainforest Warriors' (spearmen)
      • 120 'Temple Guards' (axemen)
      • 120 'Bowed Protectors' (archers)
      • 22 000 fit men that could be trained into being warriors or hunters
    • Navy:
      • 500 canoes and rafts
      • 120 trading canoes
  • Diplomacy: N/A
  • Events:
    • Nothing of importance has happened during this period.

        • Ethnicities: 95% Westrian, 4% Venetian(or what ever ethnicity that lives in trieste area), 1% others
      • Economy: We are based on agriculture and trade through the danube river, trading through Trieste and with most of the HRE. We use our own coins which resembles a lot those of the old Roman empire.
  • Wars and conflicts:
  • War of Chioggia: We have occupied quite large parts of the country togheter with Escosia. We have more than a little more than three fourths of our armed forces at their unoccupied border (with smaller pushings into their territory happen occaisonally) hoping that they will agree to peace. Since we are also trying to negotiate a peace deal that both Westria and Escosia should get what we have occupied.
    • Chief Commander: Heinrich Scharzenberg (1345 - still alive), (R 1374 - present)
    • Army: Total of

    • Swordmen: 2,050
    • Bowmen: 2,090
    • Cavalry: 2,130
    • Crossbowmen: 1,010
      • Events:
        • Integration of new territory: The so called way to the Mediterranean sea is completed a dream we have had since a long time ago. We now start to integrate the newly conquered provinces to our glorious Archduchy.
        • Discontent among the HRE state?: Rumors are lurking about discontent among the smaller states. We need to do something about this while we still can. We will invite represantatives from every state in the HRE in the Imperial Diet and so we can discuss their problems and why they feel so discontent.
  • Diplomacy:
  • All HRE states: We formally ask you all to attend to our Imperial Diet so we can discuss any problems our HRE might have.
  • Venice: You must agree to peace now right? Or do you want a fullscaled invasion of your last bits of unoccupied territory?

  • Events:
    • Peace?: With much of the ancestral Yin-tsu territories reclaimed for the Heavenly Republic, and the war dragging on, diplomats are sent to the Altaic court to negotiate for a peace deal. This peace deal would grant us our ancestral territories, in exchange for returning all captured Altaic prisoners of war.

Territory demanded by the Heavenly Republic

    • Yuen Steps Down: Despite massive popularity across the nation, Yuen Çin refuses to run for a third term, saying that "Power can turn you into the friend of Satan. I have done what I must to save the children of God from heathen barbarian Daevite oppression. Now, I must do what is right". Yuen Çin's retirement from politics establishes the unwritten rule that a Heavenly Messenger can only serve for two terms.
    • Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor, Your Starving: As one of his last acts while in office, Yuen Çin establishes the Dictate of the Good Samaritan, stating that "all men, women, and children fleeing strife, famine, oppression, or hardship, whether serf or noble, poor or wealthy, heathen or Christian, will be able to seek safe refuge in the Heavenly Republic; for it is our duty to serve God through His sons...even the most unholy heathen may one day come to know the Holy Spirit". This decree, incredibly tolerant and progressive for the time,  opened the gates for immigration of people of all races, faiths, and socioeconomic backgrounds into the Yin-tsu Republic, and the area is still known as one of the most diverse places in Europe to this day.

Roman Republic of Vedenia[]

  • Government: Vedenia is a Republic.
    • Caesar (Leader of the Council): Tycho Fuscinus (1346-1362), Adamus Fuscinus (1362-nowadays). Elected by adult male landowners.
    • Parliament: the Council with no actual factions present.
    • Royal Families: although de-jure Vedenia is a republic, de-facto it is an oligarchy controlled by a few biggest families who battle over the dominance in Vedenia. On the other hand, there is still quite a high social mobility and sometimes even the poorest become the richest.
    • Adamus Fuscinus is the son of Tycho Fuscinus, a prominent governor. He was elected after his father resigned. From the very childhood, Adamus has been interested in warfare and graduated from a military academy as one of the best students. Not long after, he joined the battles against Lithuania but his actions were strongly restricted by the rest of generals. When he became in charge of Vedena, the number of victories against the Daevites has significantly increased.
  • Economy: mostly based on logging, agriculture, and trade.

    • Avaria: It would be great to create a personal alliance.
    • Sud-Vedena: absorbing time!!!
  • Military:

  • Events:
    • Local antique: the Renaissance continues developing and changing. Nowadays, more focus is put on combining the local folklore symbols with classical antique aesthetics using wood and lumber as the main source material.
    • Third Rome (electric boogaloo): In the world full of lies and chaos, there is only one fact that remains true: Rome is civilisation, and it is our destiny to spread civilisation across the lands we were all born in.

        • Parliament: None

  • Capital: Monalba
  • Demographics:
    • Population: 360,000 (83% Osnerolese, 8% Taino, 5% Apalachee, 3% Creek, 1% others)

  • Diplomacy:
    • Ogeechee: A peace offer is extened to Ogeechee to end the war, under the condition that Ogeechee cede all occupied land to Osnerol.
  • Events:
    • The Plague: The disease spreading through Osnerolese lands spreads panic throughout the nation. Osnerolese art begins to show increasingly morbid themes around this time, and so does the literature. As part of a religious ritual to appease the god of disease through sacrifice, the bodies of those killed by the disease, as well as their clothing and belongings, are burned. This might be the key to containing the plague...
    • Osnerol Man (pt 2): Hoko Katzo had become quite hated for his "Grecophilia," so in 1374, Cuitlaxelo Witzo led a traditionalist coup, killing the king and crowning himself as king. This leads to the decline of the pro-Hellenic faction (though tech borrowing still occurs).

    • Nagasato City (Governing Capital of the Southern Provinces)
      • Location: Sarangani Bay
      • Nagasato is a city like no other in the Philippines. Carrying the heritage of generations long past, architecture of old is mixed amongst structures of new, with the sea to the south and jungles to the north. Though no longer the penultimate capital of the Philippines, Nagasato remains as an important governmental body, since this is the headquarters for the governors running the old provinces of Nagasato.'

    • Pemagarong
      • Location: Western Mindanao
      • A main trading hub on the Southeast Asian trading route. As such, most, if not all trade funnels through the region, providing the residences of Pemagarong, and all of Nagasato as a whole, a huge source of income, as products and produce gets funneled both into and out of Nagasato as ships come to and from the port city on a daily basis.

  • Research and Development:
    • Type 001 Yajiri Torpedoes: The aquatic rockets encounter their first taste of combat, being used against rogue pirates (unaffiliated with Rinashima). These tests show that the torpedoes sometimes porpoise out of the water and “dance about the sky”. As such, efforts are made to mitigate this effect, as efforts are made to
    • Subarashi Kulog Taihou MkII: Small improvements are made to the cannons, improving reliability at sea.
    • Muramasa-class Oceanic Battlecruiser: With the new wave of ships came a design for a new type of battlecruiser, to replace the older Yamamoto-class Oceanic Battlecruiser. With the Muramasa-class comes a larger hull, with the hull type of the ship beginning to show its limits. Because of this, development is delayed as a new type of hull is being drafted from the bottom up, to allow for larger ships to be constructed.
      • These ships will mount about twenty cannons per side, as well as have thicker hulls to mitigate any damage from potential torpedoes that could fall into enemy hands.
    • Subarashi Dātsu-class Oceanic Interceptors: Like the Subarashi Pagong-class, the Subarashi Dātsu-class is planned to be slightly bigger to house the same number of cannons as before. However, plans are being made to allow the Subarashi Dātsu-class to wield the new Yajiri Aquatic Rockets, launching the water-skipping rockets from either side of the ship.
    • Tsuna-class Pylon Boat: A small boat designed for speed and firepower. Though only crewed by ten people, this ship is slightly bigger than a Balangay and its design is based on the Pagong-class base. This ship is made to replace the Balangays in service, and has the same amount of cannons as the Balangays (2 cannons). However, these ships are designed to launch their payload of Yajiri Aquatic Rockets with ease.
    • Reptilian Growth: Continued breeding of the filipino monitor lizard has caused the species to grow in size, through decades, if not centuries will be required for the lizards to grow even larger.
      • That being said, they are now large enough to be farmed for food, as these monitor lizards slowly become a delicacy in the Nagasatoan region.
  • Production:
    • Numerous Orders of the Subarashi Kulog Taihou and Yajiri Torpedoes
    • 200 Subarashi Pagong-class Oceanic Cruisers
    • 200 Subarashi Dātsu-class Oceanic Interceptors
    • 400 Tsuna-class Pylon Boat
    • Older ships in use are either scrapped or retrofitted and turned into training vessels
  • Diplomacy:
    • Soryu: Diplomats sent to Soryu, inquiring if they want to enter into an alliance with the seafaring nation to their south.
    • Japan: Diplomats and merchants sail to the island, mainly to get a grasp of the situation
  • Events:
    • Journey to the East (end): With the unification of Nagasato, the outpost was told to finish fortifications of a base, as a small portion of the navy is sent to the outpost to protect Syonan trade in the area.
      • Location of outpost: West-most portion of Papua
    • Death of a Monarch: With the unification complete, Muramasa II finally is contemptuous with his life. On June 7th, 1378, Muramasa II passed away in his sleep.
      • With Muramasa II’s passing, his son, Muramasa III would’ve taken to the throne, but instead of becoming king, Muramasa III became the commander of the Southern Navy. As such, another of the renowned royal families from the south, the Souji’s, took to the throne, with one of Ojirou’s great grandsons, Tanjirou Souji, taking to power the following year.
    • Unifying Forces: While the nation is no more, their plans remain, with the date of the invasion of Suwawa pushed back to the next decade, to give time for construction of new naval vessels, to update the older, vessels still employed by both northern and southern forces. However, this invasion’s goal, along with expanding Syonan Nikun-shu’s influence, also was planned so that the new troops trained up will have experience in battle.
      • From there, plans are made to then invade Tidung, starting with the portion bordering Suwawa before moving onto the rest of Tidung.

Turn XLII: 1380 AD - 1385 AD []

KdM1380-1385A

Great People & Events[]

  • The Reconquista: The Citadel of Sanches was breached on May 8th of 1379, after a brutal siege. That day the siege finally turned into conquest, as the first wall crumbled. The majority Valcanorese armies led by general Bartolo de Ortego poured into the city. From a distance, the three kings of Iberia watched with pride and relief, as the campaign begun by Ferdinand the III, had finally reached it's zenith. Agustin the II, king of Valcanor was said to have wept at the sight of the capture of the citadel. After a whole day of fighting within the city, the inner keep was breached and Dhamthos, the Sultan of Andalousia captured. Dhamthos was imprisoned for the rest of his life in Donos. The Reconquista had come to it's end, Iberia was back under the control of the Christian God. The state of Agousta was established at the edge of Iberia, with it's capital in Lisbon as a vassal of Leon. The heir of Dhamthos, Gohtarr, at the age of 11 was placed as a puppet king for the region after his public conversion to Christianity. He renamed himself to Gonzalo at his baptism. The Valcanorese occupied regions became the kingdom of Grenada, a vassal of Valcanor and the Castilean held territories were annexed. Agustin said at the capture of Dhamthos, "Truly, we have witnessed the might of God over Ares, may the power of Christ lead those your armies had led astray bring them back to their Lord, and may you find Christ in your desolation. The ancient dream, has now come fulfilled!"
  • Horseman of Famine: With losses building up, the Altaic Empire could no longer maintain control of Northern Zhuang. Northern Zhuang receives independence. Meanwhile, in the Golden Horde, the realm experiences a collapse as various states become independent between Ukraine and the Caucasus. Chagatai and the Golden Horde, being the last two loyal states, are also questioning the Khan rule and whether it is out of date. Dogar Khan sets out to try to find Bulijins tomb for the Sword of the East, perhaps with the sword the Empire will find its salvation. Meanwhile, Taihou designs blueprints for a new gunpowder weapon that can be wielded by hand.
  • Tavastian Collapse: The Confederacy of Häme dissolves. All notions of unity had been vague interpretations by missionaries who hardly spoke the language, as trade had never been a major portion of the way of life in Häme. The unity that seemingly had existed between the Tavastians dissappears, and no one really knows why. Life hardly changed in any way, except Svearike, Karjala and Inkeri began assimilating minor tribes from the fringes. Svearike annexed several coastal tribes, including the village of Helsinki, of 700 residents, meanwhile Inkeri moved inward, annexing the village of Viipuri, of 1 500 inhabitants and lot's of lakelands. As of 1385, all of Häme had been divided between the likes of Svearike and the Finnic kingdoms.
  • Ashen Lion (Part 8): Britain is now generally at peace on the homeland after taking down resistance and remaining Gael forces. In 1383, Mordue launches a campaign on Valcanor after the latter kingdom refused to stop the skirmishes. They liberated Brest (though they occupied it afterwards as a vassal), Rennes, and La Rochelle. Though the British forces became halted outside of Bordeaux (for now). France mobilizes their army once again in response a year later and sieges Orleans.
  • Timur the Lame (Part 3): The Qarshid Empire makes another attempt at India. They managed to become more successful in Kandri and Chouda, though they take heavy losses due to mountainous terrain. Meanwhile, Timur personally led the Qarshids to take Turzmesistan and Khaledistan. Saka, Luristan, and Mazandaran falls months later.
  • The Exile of the Exousian: The Council of Pygros was forced to flee from Pygros along with the current Exousian, Kiriakos Christodouliadis. The Council relocates to Laibech in refuge and to also be in a more central location for easier traveling for all members of the council.
  • The Weser Split: Due to discord within the Holy Roman Empire, cultural differences between the German populace in certain regions and "economic interests", eastern regions of Anglefrizien have seceded from the kingdom to form the Republic of the Weser, with its capital at Bremen.
  • The White Snow Wolf (Part 1): Fiete Kjaer, the former apprentice of Artoria II, has founded her own branch of knights in the previous years. She set out on a journey to find a spear/lance that was once used by the first Artoria, as she prefers lances more than a sword: The Rhongomyniad.
  • The Burgundian Inheritance: Due to a poorly-timed succession crisis, France now finds itself bisected along its centre by the rise of the Kingdom of Burgundy, ruled by a noble from the House of Burgundy that got swept under the aristocratic rug when Old Burgundy was annexed centuries ago. The seat of power had now moved north, along with their network of conenctions, and now effectively exert rule over their main territories and the Low Countries.
  • Decline of Sukhothai: As the recent kings of Sukhothai are seen in a negative light after massive scandals, many feel such dishonorable leaders should be kicked out. The Ayutthaya dynasty has already received great support in their western provinces, while Johor revolts against their overlords and begins a massive campaign northwards. Unrest begins to brew in Khmer regions, fueled by contempt for the current kings and inspiration from the Malayans, coupled by the influence of Malayans in the region as a result of an exodus from the Black Death decades ago. Luang Prabang takes the opportunity to reclaim Vieng Chan.

NPC Turns[]

  • Atoumans: Assuming the Isetians did not pull out already and end the war, the Atoumans managed to ambush their forces, who are not as experienced in mountainous terrain, and decimated a large part of the invasion forces. The Atoumans pushed Isetium out of their land, though they managed to acquire the country south of them in the process. As casualties mounting for both sides (though not as much for Atoumans), the Atoumans reach out to Isetium for peace.
  • Teutonic Order: They crush any hostiles within their territory, restoring their borders to their original form. Although, they later invaded Courland out of revenge for supporting the rebels after a brief conflict.
  • Venice: They surrender any occupied territory.
  • Inkeri: They continue their invasion of the Golden horde, capturing Davas and Sura-Sitan. Tapani II, the king of Inkeri begins to call himself as Tapani the Conqueror.
  • Ajuran: They accept the call to arms.
  • Kemahana: They agree.
  • Ogeechee: They agree.

    • Royal Families: although de-jure Vedenia is a republic, de-facto it is an oligarchy controlled by a few biggest families who battle over the dominance in Vedenia. On the other hand, there is still quite a high social mobility and sometimes even the poorest become the richest.
    • Mykola Kozhumyaka is the most famous artist in Vedenia, if not entire East Europe. He has created a lot of beautiful artworks combining local Lithuanian and Daevite folklore with ancient Roman aesthetics. However, he entered politics recently and became very popular with the Council. In 1380, after the death of Adamus Fuscinus, he Mykola was elected as the brand new governor. He stands for further expansion of Vedenia and creating closer ties with the strong neighbours.
  • Economy: mostly based on logging, agriculture, and trade.
    • Trade unions: the traders of Lutsk, Chernobyl, Minsk and other cities run merchant guilds to secure a better position in the local environment and promote trade across all the regions of Vedenia.
  • Capitals: Lutsk, Chernobyl, and Minsk
  • Demographics (including occupied territories): 1'220k people
    • Rural areas:~1115k.
    • Urban areas: 105k; 8,5% live in urban areas.

  • Wars and Conflicts: at war with the Golden Horde and Lithuania
    • Golden Horde: no mercy to the disgusting nomads who brought sorrow and dismay to the world! we shall never retreat!
    • Courland: troops quickly cross across the borders trying to get to the coast preventing the very existence of any border between the Teutons and Inkeri.
  • Diplomacy:
    • Yin-Tsu: It would be great to create a personal union to secure peace in the region and pursue common aims.
    • Avaria: It would be great to create a personal alliance as we both are quite similar and share the same core enemy - the Teutons.
    • Inkeri: The best what we can do is not to attack each other, do you agree?
  • Military:
    • Army size: ~20'000 (at the moderate expense): 7'000 are sent to battle the Golden Horde, 7'000 are sent to get to the coast of Courland.

        • HRE members port permit: We have put a law that allows other members of the HRE to put their ships in the docks in the city of Trieste and they also have certain priviliges better compared to nations outside of the Holy Roman Empire

Kingdom of Lustria | 'The Eternal Kingdom of the Lizard Gods'[]

  • Government: Centralised tribal monarchy
    • Great Chief / Mortal Bearer of the Lizard Gods:
      • K'oroka ([F], 1199-1246, r. 1222-1246)
      • Moszar ([M], 1214-1258, r. 1246-1258)

      • Azarkel ([F], 1255-1303, r. 1284-1303)
      • Oroku ([F], 1280-1347, r. 1303-1347)
      • Krokezal ([M], 1320-1385, r. 1347)
      • Urgoka ([F], 1302-1361, r. 1347-1361)
      • Krokezal ([M], 1320-1384, r. 1361-1384)
      • As'gar ([M], b. 1352, r. 1384)
    • Heirs and Pretenders:
      • Razhar'a ([F], b. 1381)
    • (not related) Religious Leader of Krokanism / The Messenger to Kroak: From 1384 and onward, the role is now basically merged to the Mortal Bearer of Lustria
      • Rhok'sk ([M] 1284-1328, r. c. 1300s-1328)
    • Population: 45 700
      • Amekrog: 1 700
      • Osbme: 400
      • Koos'en: 300

      • Yok: 150
      • Mur'lok: 400
      • Roseg: 50
      • Araswel: 60
      • Sar'gel: 40
      • Kelo: 40
      • Turon: 20
      • Rest is just rural or other villages
    • Religion: 46% Lustrian folk religion, 3% Arawak folk religion, 50% Krokanist (a 'reformed' Lustrian religion with a more centralised belief system), 1% Cult of Khrone (primarily in western Lustria, Khorn'kor)
    • Culture/Ethnicity: 90% Lustrian, 7% Arawak, 3% Tremembe
  • Military: Since As'gar became the Mortal Bearer, As'gar began devoting himself on training and preparing a new army to retake Khorn'kor back into the rightful united kingdom of Lustria, hoping to finally begin a new era of the kingdom that claims itself to be descendant of lizards. Khorne cultists have declined notably in the late 14th century during the reign of As'gar.
    • Army:
      • 55 'Lizard Warriors' (clubmen with wooden with 'sparsely metallic' shields)
      • 200 'Rainforest Warriors' (spearmen)
      • 100 'Temple Guards' (axemen)
      • 150 'Bowed Protectors' (archers)
      • 22 000 fit men that could be trained into being warriors or hunters
    • Navy:
      • 500 canoes and rafts
      • 120 trading canoes
  • Diplomacy: N/A
  • Events:
    • Father's Death: The death of an important figure during the times of where Lustria is written and learned by many cautionary archaeologists, Krokezal, who fought against the Khorne cultists, has officially died on 1384 with little record of his death. His son, As'gar would succeed as the new Mortal Bearer and he has a plan to reintegrate Khorn'kor back to Lustria after just two decades of it being an independent realm and overran by cultists.
    • Outrage and Demand of Reunification: During the reign of As'gar, these Khorne cultists have declined in numbers in Amekrogia (East Lustria) and this was seen as good news. The Lustrian army is now ramping up its training under the guidance of As'gar, who he was entrusted by his father to take Khorn'kor back to Lustria and achieve full stability. It is expected that the latter half of the 1380s would see As'gar commencing full invasion.
    • Burials of Krokezal: Krokezal is buried in a huge shrine by followers of the Krokanist faith.

    • Muramasa-class Oceanic Battlecruiser: With the new wave of ships came a design for a new type of battlecruiser, to replace the older Yamamoto-class Oceanic Battlecruiser. The Muramasa-class also sports a new hull design, allowing the ship class to be constructed larger in size.

  • Economy: The end of The Second Campaign has proved fruitful for trade, as trade with the Caldeans and Georgians is now acceptable based off of the absence of the Ilkhanate. Although the plague has made internal trade throughout the Kingdom troublesome, the more merchants have died, the more take their place, only for them to die and for more to take their place. Much of the surviving merchants, particularly along the coast, have secured personal wealth from the death's of their competition.

    • End of Paganism: Although the Neo-Paganist ideology of the Cult of Kaides had slowly diminished in their power, the gradual unification of Hellenic Paganism with Catholicist Cristianity has allowed a large conversion of the base population into what Scholars have referred to historically as Hellenic Christianity. With the rise of Hellenic Christianity, a number of Priests working towards a perfected Egyptian sect has nearly doubled in quick time.
    • Absorption of Coptic Orthodox: In an effort to solidify Hellenic Christianity, Pope-Bishop Joseph II meets with the Coptic Pope-Patriarch John X to discuss possible methods of unification between the two African churches. They meet at the Caesareum of Alexandria, one of the last standing Christian churches in Alexandria following the rise of Cult of Kaides and subsequent persecution of Christians across the territories.
    • Canal of the Pharoahs: After some economic movements, a budget is given to the re-construction and proliferation of the Canal of the Pharoahs, soon to be renamed the Koragos Canal. Turn XLIII: 1385 AD - 1390 AD []

KdM1385-1390A

Great People & Events[]

  • Ashen Lion (Finale): On one night towards the end of 1389, Artoria II heard voices. It was the voices of everyone she cared about in the past, from her late parents to the late Empress Aurelia. The voices beckoned her outside the castle to a forest. She sighs and whispered to herself, "my time has come" before disappearing into the forest. A few who observed her journey to the forest described it as something "bizarre" to see the Queen by herself, she seemed so pure and she did not age as much despite being 72. Legends say the lost Queen became one with the forest, grew wings and ascend to high to the sky like a phoenix. Regardless, Queen Artoria II "Ember" Pendragon is declared missing days after, leaving River Mordue as the sole queen of Britain (Albion) for a bit as she figures out which child of Artoria, twins by the name of Ashe (named from Ember and Artoria's reputation as the "Ashen Lion") and Aura (named after the late Empress Aurelia of the HRE), to ascend to the throne if Artoria did not return the following year. While both genders inherit on equal grounds, twins is harder to determine. After much debate Ashe Pendragon ascended to the throne in 1390 on the grounds that he "came first". The nation is in mourning for a year, with a statue being built in London in honor of Artoria II and her old knights beside her (Such as Sir David, , Lady Cassie, and Lady Monika), who all passed roughly the same time she disappeared. Fiete and Hildr's statue has been built in Camlann Plains (Salisbury Plains). Queen River mourned the loss of her fellow queen, but pushed on forth to continue her legacy (and build her own). One of Artoria II's last wishes were for a united Britain (Albion) and the two houses of Pendragon and Mordue remain together as companions.
  • White Snow Wolf (Part 2): After a long journey, Fiete Kjær finally found what she is looking for: The Lance/Spear of Rhongomyniad. She was told the weapon is located in Scandinavia, taken from one of the Viking raids in Britain hundreds of years ago. Through the years, Fiete traveled across Scandinavia in search. Her journey had made her end up in Vestkyst, where she realized the weapon was stored in one of the Kingdom's greatest treasures. It seemed hope was lost, until the a war between Danemark (who wanted sovereignty) and the Vestkyst crown erupted. Dangers were further deepened when it was further discovered that Sverike had chipped away on Vestkyst's waning power for years, and joined on Danemark's side (as they were responsible for it). She traveled to the Queen's court, and offered her services. The Queen of Vestkyst, hearing about her participation in the battles in Britain (Albion) and Eire, accepted her service in 1389.
  • Timur the Lame (Part 4): Timur Qarshid invades Georgia and Ahuric Empire, determined to reach Anatolia. Upon hearing the Urdeks were housing the last Great Khans, he sent a raiding party to take them himself.
  • Horseman of Famine (Part 10): In 1387 and 1390, the Golden Horde and Chagatai became virtually self-governing and sovereign, considering themselves separate respectively. Chagatai, was the last bastion in 1390, and they overthrew them by a more powerful and dominating figure. It took a long time for the Altaic Empire to fall this low. In the sunset of the Altaic Empire, Dogar Khan and Taihou Khatun fled to Bulibaliq in 1390 with remnants and refugees, with plans to sail to Astrakhan (or any territory with Golden Horde at least). After it replaced the Daevites and stabilized the region after the plague, famine racked the Empire and killed many good men to keep the Empire’s stability. Upon rumors being spread about their current whereabouts, and how wanted they are, many who want to strike it rich set out to kill Taihou and Dogar. Some are not caring about the casualties in their way. Timur of the Qarshids sent a force to capture them.
  • The Continuation War: Western Europe has been a stage of war for over a century now, and eventhough the unification of Albion occurred and the Reconquista has successfully reclaimed Iberia for the christendom and have the son of the Aresian sultan become christian. All these events gave hope for peace in the region, but those hopes dissappeared when the Albionite armies crossed the canal of Albion. Bartolo de Ortego, the famed general who crushed Murcia and conquered the entirety of the southern shores of Iberia, and took Sanches marches to meet the Albionite in Bordeaux with a great army. The other Iberian states, still exhausted by the wars remain out of the conflict for now. Some nobles do join the Valcanorese forces out of respect to Agustin the II and Bartolo de Ortego. He is able to defeat the Albionite siege of Bordeaux, and begins fortifying the city for future invasions, knowing an assault on the Albionite with the current amount of soldiers would be suicide. France is for once on the offensive, having always been defending their lands against the Albionite in the last decades of the war. They take Orleans and rural regions around Limoges. Vincentius Bertillon, the French main general begins to draw up plans to conquer the city of Paris, a hub of Albionite control in the region. The division caused by Burgundy makes things difficult, which made the fall of Orleans back to French hands such an important moment in the war.
  • The Collapse of the Golden Horde: The once great nation now faces the collapse of their entire west. The cecession of six states and invasion by three foreign powers has forced the empire to full retreat. The pockets left of the empires last forces surrounded all surrender. Arri is taken by the Yin-Tsu, who'se national identity begins to resurface as the Euro-Asiatic people after centuries of being occupied by different powers The other pockets are assimilated by the neighbouring nations. Internal stability within the empire begins to hemorrhage as nobles struggle for power and local coups occur everywhere with hatred towards the loss of the West driving the ruler of the Horde mad.
  • Hellenic Christianity: The Apolloites of Cyrenai have been slowly under religious pressure by the Church of Isetium to turn christian and the situation has caused internal problems. Many hardline Apolloites and Hellenic christians have faced off and caused riots within major cities. The instability seems to grow each year, with the Christian Scholars of Cyrenai and Georgia requesting Isetium to try to calm the situation, as the Apolloite king of Cyrenai, still seems to oppress the Christian majority, forcing them to pay more taxes and denying them higher official ranks.
  • Orthodox Christianity: The Faith had travelled to regions of Europe which had never before heard of the faith, with churches being set up in Qosoma, Qazan and Yoshkar. With around 10% of local populations having turned christians, the pagan chieftains had grown worried and hateful, seeing the christians as heretics committing sacriledge over the old gods. The Church of Qazan is burned and religious tensions rise, with Qazan persecuting christians and Qosoma and Yoshkar pondering on following along. The Patriarchs of Inkeri and Rostov grow worried, sending relief aid to their missionaries in the region.
  • Song of the Sands: With decades of hiding by the Aresians in Araouane, the Order of the Sands had infiltrated the local governments in Araouane, and Timbuktu. Both cities now having a secretly Aresian leader begin to see less discrimination towards the Aresians. Rarely anyone knows of these slight pro-Aresian changes, but the locals begin to fear what may follow.
  • Conflict Down Under: Due to border friction and other tensions, the tribe of Gwarri declared war on Yolngu.
  • Aztec Incursions: Aztec armies managed to drive raiding tribes out of Tamtoc and Guamuchil.

NPC Turns[]

  • Courland: They collapse after being invaded by the Teutonic Order and Livonia, who become allies after splitting the region, with Livonia mainly getting only woodlands and tiny hamlets
  • Svartheim: The King of Svartheim proposes an alliance in case of an Atouman invasion to Escosia
  • Chaldea: They are angry at Isetium for backing out of the war, as their peace proposal to the Atoumans is denied, and Hattria is sieged and Sinope captured.
  • Atlas: Their fleets join the war, being in a personal alliance with Valcanor. Atlasioi fleets raid Brest, Nantes and La Rochelle and help the Valcanorese fleet keep the Albionite fleet at bay.
  • Granada: The king of Granada, the younger brother of Agustin the II begins to focus on the art of trade. The Strait of Gibraltar was a pivotal region for trade, as it controlled all mediterranean-atlantic trade, and he wanted to be in total control of it. Ceuti was the main hub for traders, as Algecia was a smaller and less promising port and only the most anti-Aresian traders sailed there. The King begins to make massive public works to grow the importance of Algecia and make it a prominent by-stop for merchants.
  • Byzantium: Upon pressure from the Italian states, they were forced to give up Athens to Venice.
  • Naples: They consider the Papal State's land buying proposal "laughable" and "preposterous" and sent the envoys home.
  • Ifari: Ifari rejects the peace offer from Sumali, and in a shock twist, managed to capture the city of Al-Bahr and a few spots on the Sumalian coast in a naval landing campaign
  • Eskosia: They agree to an alliance with Svartheim.
  • Dai Viet: They declare war on a struggling Sukhothai, taking Phan Rang.

    • A Merchant for us to - Boniface IX placed great emphasis on economic strength for the Papal States, thus he provided funds for the various merchant guilds mainly in the port city of Ravenna, though other cities to, including Rome got a slice of the cake to, causing the economy to start to get even bigger, with merchants finding more and more money trading with bigger and more boats.
    • Another Sword Quest (II) - The quest defenitely wasn't an easy one, the members of the Italia Order had to fight super hard in the Atlas area, where Carthage would've been, the Order managed to get Caesari Culpa back into Rome though, where Pope Boniface IX cleansed the blade and made it into a holy relic, now it is the Blade of Caesar and of the Holy Italia Order of the Round Table
    • Possible Conquests - Ideas of expanding start floating around a bit in the areas of the Papal States, we will see how that will go, though if approved, many smaller states in Italy may fall to the Papal States

Kingdom of Lustria | 'The Eternal Kingdom of the Lizard Gods'[]

KDM Lustria Final 17
  • Government: Centralised tribal monarchy
    • Great Chief / Mortal Bearer of the Lizard Gods:
      • K'oroka ([F], 1199-1246, r. 1222-1246)
      • Moszar ([M], 1214-1258, r. 1246-1258)
      • Urchannk ([M], 1230-1284, r. 1258-1284)
      • Rhok'sk ([M] 1284-1328, r. c. 1300s-1328)

  • Diplomacy: N/A
  • Events:
    • War against Khorn'kor: On 1387, As'gar commences a full assault against Khorn'kor, beginning the reconquest of the Lustrian Kingdom's western realm and retaking the land from the Khorne cultists. This should be an unexpected attack however, the people of Khorn'kor and the cult followers of Khorne know that it would come because Krokezal and his own son would not give up on uniting Lustria back into one divine light. It is expected that the Lustrian Kingdom would fully reintegrate Khorn'kor back into Lustria entirely and that the number of followers of the Khorne cult would slowly be reabsorbed back into the non-reform/Krokanist sect of the Lustrian folk religion slowly. (just a note, I am doing this just to finally finish the long story arc of Lustria destabilising in the mid-14th century)

Sumali Sultanate[]

  • Government: Despotic Monarchy (Sultanate)
    • Sultan: Abdiwahid bin Sadiiq (B 1359, alive) (R 1382 - Present)
  • Allies: Ajuran
  • Capital: Al-Bahr (official), Hawiyabad (temporary)
  • Demographics:

    • Religion: 70% Zoroastrian, 29% Arzham, 1% Other
  • Wars and Conflicts (italics: Potential War):
    • Ifari War: WE FUCKING MURDER THEM. The soldiers not placed on the frontline are sent to deal with this whole Al-Bahr occupation bullshit that shouldn't have happened, (hopefully) as well as the other landings along with some of the assisting Ajurani forces. Cavalry units are used to outpace the enemy. The frontline units will continue forward, with cavalry tactics being used to quickly maneuver towards Fagal.
    • Naval: 7 of our Galleys are sent from Hafur to the Gulf of Aden (mostly by Al-Bahr) where they will block the landing forces from escaping. Any enemy ships will obviously be engaged.
    • Cities: Mercenaries and Militias are recruited to protect Hafur and Al-Joonoobiya while the standing army is out fighting. If Ajuran could spare units to do the same that would be lovely.
  • Military: Ca 1% of our population is our available manpower that we can deploy for warfare, thus being ca 8 000 man.
    • Deployed units: All
    • Infantry: 2 050
    • Archers: 2 025
    • Long Spearmen: 2 000
    • Cavalry: 2 075
  • Navy:
    • 10 transport ships
    • 9 galleys
  • Diplomacy:
    • Ifari: Ok now you have officially taken it too far you little shit.
    • Yemen and Al-Qarsoon: If you help us in the war, you can share 70% of the slaves that may end up captured and also get some sweet trade deals. You don't need to send any soldiers, you can just block Fagal from getting any supplies to starve them out.
  • Events:
    • Capital Move: Okay because of dumb shit they captured Al-Bahr but the royal court escaped to Hawiyabad, which is now de-facto capital.
    • Interest in Soqotra: Soqotra, the archipelago belonging to Al-Qarsoon with the city of Tamreda, becomes a place of interest in Sumali's eyes as it could be a very important port in terms of our interest in the trade moving across the Indian Ocean.
    • Ifari Plans: When we eventually win the war against Ifari, lands up to the Gulf of Tadjoura will be annexed and the rest will be turned into a vassal: Bab al-Mandib (Bab el-Mandeb).

  • Navy: 17 Transport ship (for rivers), 71 Fishing ships, 1 Transport ship/'s (For Oceans) 1 (Protoype)
  • Diplomacy:
    • Lepai: We accept
  • Research:
    • Naval research: We start investing in researching ships that can move across the Ocean (Mexican golf).
  • Production:
    • Prototype Ship nr. 6: We start building a new Prototype that is more stable, strong, hopefully it works out, it's expected to be finished by 1393.
  • Events:
    • First Transport Ship: meant for easy travel and to send Cargo and stuff between cities on the eastern coast.

Lepai Confederacy:[]

Government: Tribal Confederation

  • Binanit’a’i: Atsa Bidzii (1391-)

Economy: As a Semi-Nomadic people we farm maize, beans, and squash around the more fertile land around the San Juan river and Rio Grande. Much of the population are hunter-gatherers though. Buffalo is a significant part of Lepai life, though they are less significant to us than they are to the Plains Indians. Since our introduction to sheep, some of our people have become pastoralists instead of full-time hunter gatherers. We also mine Turquoise, which is a good that Mesoamericans prize dearly.

Ceremonial Capital: Ni Alnii’gi (Monument Valley)

De Facto Capital: Tota' Haal'a (Farmington)

Demographics:

  • Population: 15,000
    • Tota' Haal'a: 600
  • Ethnic Makeup: 62% Lepai (Southern Athabaskan),20% Pueblo, 17% Hopi/Anasazi,11% Havasupai.

Religion: 68% Lepai Folk Religion, 32% Other

Military: No standing army, but we have 2,300 horse warriors and 800 infantry warriors who we are able to use in case of a war.

Events:

  • Rapider Expansion: More land is taken around the Rio Grande, as we expand south towards Mexico. Meanwhile, we start incursions into the Colorado River, expanding to the end of the Grand Canyon. More land is consolidated into our confederacy around our borders, and our Kidhoodzo reach the rocky mountains.
  • Warfare stuff: The use of Ndik’a’deiji’ee’ (Literally "cotton shirts") grows among our warriors. It consists of braids of cotton around 2 inches thick. The cotton is soaked in brine and other materials, to make it harder. It’s preferred by our warriors for it’s ability to deflect arrows and it’s relative comfort. For those that cannot afford the Ndik’a’deiji’ee’, there is an alternative, called Tłʼohdeiji’ee’ (Literally, “Grass Shirt”) made of braided grass, tied and stuck together, which is worn as a breastplate of sorts, above a shirt, which generally has the same properties as Ndik’a’deiji’ee’. Ball Clubs begin to come back into fashion, due to their ability to knock out or crush an opponent's skull.
  • Integration of Tribes: As we absorb more people, we run into the problem of managing these communities. We leave them alone, though they have to contribute to the Lepai Military. Many Lepai move into these lands, because grazing land is somewhat scarce. Some larger towns and villages have to pay taxes.
  • The ones to the south: We learn more about the Aztecs (Díne Bitábąh Aniłtso Shádi'aahjígo or Wéʼéshgaaʼ Diné in Lepai Language). We learn about their style of warfare, which revolves around taking captives for sacrifice. The rank and quality of their armor and weapons is determined by the amount of capitves they capture in battle, which means that their best are absolute OP. However, much of their army has no armor, with only a shield and a weird club-sword.
  • 14th Century Meming: After being introduced to math by the Anasazi and Pueblo, people begin to be intrigued by Geometry, particularly impossible objects, which are carved all over. Weird Statues begin to pop up around this time as well, due to a belief that rain is simply the Diyin Dine crying, and thunder is their laughter. People start to make funny statues to make them laugh, bring rain and divine favor.

Diplomacy:

  • Aztec Empire: Here's a delegation, arriving at Guamuchil. It contains turquoise and copper. Don't be afraid by those scary people on horses bringing it to you.

Isetium[]

  • Government: Christian Theocracy
    • Dynasty: Tarakis
      • Andros I (1321-1326)
      • Andros II (1326-1334)
      • Andreas I (1334-1339)
      • Andros III (1339-1348)
      • Andros IV (1348-1353)
      • Andreas II (1353-1356)
      • Marius I (1356-1362)
      • Andros V (1362-1366)
    • Dynasty: Orthaeus
      • Koragos I (1366-1380)
      • Rihat I (1380 - present)
  • Economy: The end of The Heretic Crusade has proved fruitful for trade, as trade with the Caldeans and Georgians is now acceptable based off of the absence of the Ilkhanate. Although the plague has made internal trade throughout the Kingdom troublesome, the more merchants have died, the more take their place, only for them to die and for more to take their place. Much of the surviving merchants, particularly along the coast, have secured personal wealth from the death's of their competition.
  • Capital: Alexandria
  • Demographics:
    • Population: 5,700,000 (63% Egyptian, 15% Arameans, 12% Assyrian, 5% Israelite, 5% Other)
    • Religion: 81% Hellenic Christian, 13% Pagan, 4% Judaism, 2% Zoroastrianism, ~1% Other)
  • Diplomacy:
    • Atoumans: If you keep invading Chaldea, we'll re-enter the war, this time pushing forward to Nicaea instead of stopping at Iconium.
  • Events:
    • End of Paganism: Although the Neo-Paganist ideology of the Cult of Kaides had slowly diminished in their power, the gradual unification of Hellenic Paganism with Hellenic Cristianity has allowed a large conversion of the base population into what Scholars have referred to historically as Hellenic Christianity.
    • Canal of the Pharoahs: Finishes by 1392, creating a new method of trading from the Mediterannean Sea into the Indian Ocean.
    • Apolloites: Although differential in denomination, it is ultimately the ideas of faith through unity that binds Christianity together. Meetings of peaceful conversations and scholarly debates take place in Isisia, Alexandria, Antipyrgos, and Cyrene.

The Heavenly Republic | (First) Yin-Tsu Republic | Respublik Çinnetu[]

  • Government: Theocratic Republic
    • Heavenly Messenger: The Heavenly Messenger is elected by the people (all adult males with no history of criminal activity) every 5 years. Although there is no official limit of terms as Heavenly Messenger, Yuen Çin's resignation in 1377 has set a precedent in which Heavenly Messengers are expected to serve no more than 2 terms.
      • Yuen Çin [I] (elected 1367-77)
      • Wang Nëng [I] (elected 1377-1382)
      • Hëng Sin [J] (elected 1382-)
    • The Mandatories (Yin-tsu Parliaments/Congress):
      • Senate: The Senate is elected by the people (all adult males with no history of criminal activity) every 2 years. Senators can serve unlimited terms, provided they are re-elected. A senator serves a single senatory. The Senate currently has 216 members.
      • House of Lords: 1 representative from the 3 most influential noble families in each parish is chosen (from within the families) to stand in the House of Lords. The Heavenly Messenger can also apppoint life peerages. The House of Lords currently has 104 members.
      • Ecclesiastic Chamber: The Ecclesiastic Chamber is handpicked by the Patriarch of Constatinople and the Archbishop of Chiko. The Ecclesiastic Chamber mostly consists of priests and bishops of influential churches across the country. The Ecclesiastic Chamber currently has 147 members.
    • Political Parties: While there are no official political parties, there have been several ideological blocs within the Mandatories. These are:
      • The Old Families: The Old Families are comprised of much of the noble classes of Yin-tsu society. They have substantial power in the govermment, and have a supermajority in the House of Lords. The Old Families generally take a conservative and even reactionary stance, supporting the feudal system, high taxes, and a strong military based on feudal levies. The Old Families hold sway over many rural areas of the Republic (but only because peasants can't read). In 1390, the Old Families hold 111 seats in the Mandatories (32in the Senate, 73 in the House of Lords, and 6 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber)
      • The JungñenThe Jungñen (lit. city dwellers) are very similar to the burghers/bourgeoisie/merchant guilds in the rest of Europe. The Jungñen have a healthy amount of power in the Senate, and own most of the seats in the House of Lords not part of the Old Families. The Jungñen generally campaign on free trade, lower taxes, improving infrastructure in the realm, building alliances with neighbors, and a small but well-trained military. The Jungñen hold sway over most urban or impoverished areas in the Republic. In 1390, the Jungñen hold 100 seats in the Mandatories (81 in the Senate, 15 in the House of Lords, and in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
      • The Religious Front: The Religious Front are mostly made up of either Orthodox clergymen or very religious senators or nobles. The Religious Front all but own the Ecclesiastic Chamber, as well as having moderate influence in the Senate and minimal influence in the House of Lords. As the religious right wing of the Yin-tsu Republic, the Religious Front generally campaign on integration of the Church into the state, setting up religious schools across the Republic, setting up a proto-welfare system to aid the poor, disenfranchisement of heretics and heathens, and a strong military ready to defend the cause of Christ. The Religious Front is heavily supported in the poorer regions of the country, as well as overwhelmingly in much of the northwest. In 1390, the Religious Front hold 153 seats in the Mandatories (27 in the Senate, 5 in the House of Lords, and 121 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
      • The Militarists: Composed of mainly generals and admirals in the Yin-tsu military, the Militarists are the largest of the fringe parties, enjoying moderate representation in the Senate. The Militarists mainly campaign on conservative social policiesa large military, a priority of defense of the nation, and the shifting of the economy to a military-industrial complex. The Militarists enjoy good amounts of support in frontier regions of the empire, especially in the east. In 1390, the Militarists hold 20 seats in the Mandatories (17 in the Senate, 1 in the House of Lords, and 2 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber)
      • The Minorities: Consisting of nobles, merchants, and people from all walks of life who happen to not be Yin-tsu, the Minorities can really be split into 3 distinct groups: the Goths, the Varangians, and the Davano-Khazars or Bonrics. The Minorities are a big tent political faction, with no clear agreement on economic and social policies, and mainly focus on the rights of said minorities in the greater Yin-tsu Republic.
        • The Goths: This faction represents the interests of the Crimean Gothic population (numbering around 80,000 within the Yin-tsu nation). In 1390, the Goths hold 19 seats (15 in the Senate, 1 in the House of Lords, and 3 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
        • The Varangians: This faction represents the interests of the Varangian population (numbering around 60,000 within the Yin-tsu nation). In 1390, the Varangians hold 14 seats (9 in the Senate, 2 in the House of Lords, and 3 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
        • The Bonrics: This faction represents the interests of the Davans and Khazars of Yin-tsu (numbering around 20,000 and 10,000 respectively), as well as the interests of other steppe peoples in the country. In 1390, the Bonrics hold 9 seats (7 in the Senate, 1 in the House of Lords, and 1 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
      • The Radicals: By far the smallest and least influential of the political factions in the Yin-tsu realm are the Radicals. The Radicals are people with ideologies that are (ahem) ahead of their time. Champoining ideas such as ending serfdom (gasp), women's rights (oh my god!) and separating church and state (oh, the blasphemy!), no one really takes them seriously. The Radicals hold seats in the Senate. One of the more influential Radical senators would be Zyën Çu, who would later write "The Mandate of Heaven", one of the first political satires ever written (see Events).
      • The Independents: Covering a wide range of ideologies, the Independents are those Mandators (term analogous to MPs or Congressmen/women) who have not, for one reason or another, aligned themselves with a political bloc. In 1390, Independents hold 35 seats (22 in the Senate, 6 in the House of Lords, and 7 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
  • Capital: Chiko
  • Economy: We are mostly agrarian, but dabble in trade in the Black Sea a bit. Considering our position at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, we have begun investing more on trade.
  • Demographics:
    • Population: 425k
      • Chiko: 28k
      • Kamo: 11k
      • Armafa: 9k
      • Aragat: 25k
      • Taganrog: 39k
      • Arri: 14k
    • Religion: 93% Orthodox Christianity, 4% Khazarite Judaism, 2% Catholicism, 1% other (mostly foreign traders)
    • Ethnicity: 55% Çumñen (Yin-tsu), 19% Crimean Gothic, 13% Varangian, 8% Davanic, 4% Khazar, 3% other (mostly foreign traders and refugees fleeing the fall of the Altaic Empire)
  • Military:
    • Army: 4200 swordsmen, 1600 archers, 1150 cavalry
    • Navy: 4 heavy ships, 7 galleys, 12 transports, ~212 merchant ships
  • Wars and Conflicts: N/A
  • Events:
    • Administrative Changes: Now that we have secured peace for our time, we begin looking at the nitty-gritty of governance. Based on several factors, including noble estates, geographic boundaries, and ethnic lines, the Republic is divided into 34 parishes, grouped together into 7 regions (the regions are for census purposes only; political power lies with the parishes). Proportional representation is also introduced into the Senate (with it having no clear rule about who is represented beforehand), with the parishes further broken up into senatories, with 1 senator representing a single senatory. The senatories are drawn so that each senatory contains roughly 2,000 people each.
    • The Soul of the People: With the Yin-tsu people having finally thrown off the shackles of foreign conquerers and opressors after centuries, a flowering in Yin-tsu literature and the arts has begun. During the late 14th and early 15th centuries, many literary and artistic works would come out of the Yin-tsu Republic, with this era in Yin-tsu history often being called "The Republican Renaissance".
      • The Mandate of Heaven: The most famous work written during the Republican Renaissance was "The Mandate of Heaven", a comedy composed by Zyën Çu in 1388, showing a Heaven in which angels elect one of their own to be God for 5 years. Considered one of the first works of political satire in European history, "The Mandate of Heaven" ridicules the Yin-tsu political system of the time, and points out the flaws of politicians and people in power at the time, from charged Senatorial debates, usually involving copious amounts of insults demeaning the mothers and daughters of senators, to rampant corruption amongst the nobility, to the hypocrisy of the Orthodox Church having a hand in secular affairs when "the Bible said, 'Render upon Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's'". "The Mandate of Heaven" is also notable for its publication in the vernacular Yin-tsu tongue, instead of Latin.
    • Admiral of the Steppes (pt. 0): A young couple, Aisha and Qasul, arrive on the outskirts of Taganrog and buy a mid-sized apartment on the outskirts of the city in the autumn of 1390. At the time, they were just two out of the multitudes of refugees fleeing the fall of the Altaic Empire, but in time, they will become much more than just refugees...
  • Diplomacy:
    • Vedena: The offer for an alliance is wholeheartedly accepted. May our two nations step forward in tandem.
    • Circassia, Don, Astrakhan, Saratov: We are surrounded by powers much mightier and stronger than we are, or can hope to be for the time being. If we stand divided, these stronger nations can roll over us with ease. However, no matter how weak we are individually, we are strong together. We ask for a mutual alliance and free trade agreement, so that our people can prosper together, and repel any threat the powers surrounding us can make.
    • Inkeri: We come in peace.

The Diarchy of Syonan Nikun-shu[]

  • Government: Mercantile Oligarchy

        • R: 1364 - Present
      • (South) Tanjirou Souji
        • R: 1379 - Present
  • Economy: The Syonan Economy primarily consists of fishing, fruits, and precious metals and gems. The currency is based on copper and silver coins. Due to the rapid expansion, the quality of life of even the lowest of peasants has improved, with the poorest able to feed themselves and their families with ease.
  • Main Religion: Shintoism
  • Cities and Demographics:
    • Population: ~520,000
  • Notable Cities:
    • Mei-nira (Governing Capital of the Northern Provinces)
      • Location: Luzon
      • Upon the unification of the Philippines came a renovation to the city, as it was to become the main governing body for the northern provinces.
    • Syonan (Capital)
      • Location: Southern Luzon
      • The proud capital of the Syonan Nikun-shu, as well as the location of the main governing body, where both the northern and southern governors can meet to discuss plans every so often.
Though no longer the penultimate capital of the Philippines, Nagasato remains as an important governmental body, since this is the headquarters for the governors running the old provinces of Nagasato.
    • Davao (Mining hub)
      • Location: Southern Mindanao
      • Davao was a city created to house the various workers that work in the mines located nearby, which provides for a good majority of the exports from Nagasato
    • Cagayan
      • Location: Northern Mindanao
      • Another port city captured during the Nagasatoan Unification of Mindanao. This city serves as the main naval base of the Syonan Southern Navy, as well as where most of the naval development for the country is conducted.
    • Lavender City
      • Location: Eastmost Tidung
      • The location of the landing for Syonan forces on mainland Tidung. This serves as a southern naval base for the Syonans, as well as a trading port along the aquatic silk road (if that makes any sense)
  • Wars and Conflicts
    • Tidung: The decision to secure complete control of the strait between the two territories Tidung controls is put into effect, with a full assault from Syonan’s foothold on the island.
  • Armed Forces
    • Syonan Nikun Grand Army: 5%

        • Crew: 120
      • 5 Yamamoto-class Oceanic Battlecruisers
        • Crew: 70
      • 206 Subarashi Pagong-class Oceanic Cruisers
        • Crew: 60
      • 220 Subarashi Dātsu-class Oceanic Interceptors
        • Crew: 40
      • 510 Tsuna-class Torpedo Boats
        • Crew: 10
      • Various Coastal Patrol Boats
      • 500 Oceanic Transport Vessels
  • Research and Development:
    • Type 001 Yajiri Torpedo Mod. 1386: A new hull design for the torpedo is designed, to provide more stability for the Torpedo as it flows across the water.
    • Subarashi Kulog Taihou MkIII : Small improvements are made to the cannons, improving reliability at sea.
      • In addition, a land version of the cannon is created and field-tested in Tidung
    • Bakuchiku MkI: A more powerful cannon is being developed, complete with both a larger calibre of gun as well as the ability for the gun to be breech-loaded. The Bakuchiku cannon. Completion of the new cannon will be complete by the turn of the century.
      • These ships will mount about twenty cannons per side, as well as have thicker hulls to mitigate any damage from potential torpedoes that could fall into enemy hands.
    • Tsuna-class Pylon Boat: As the ship-type is being produced, small improvements are made here and there, such as a small redesign to the hull to increase stability and speed.
    • 30 Tsuna-class Pylon Boat
    • Numerous merchant and transport ships
  • Diplomacy:
    • Japan: Syonan observers keep an eye on the situation, for if Japan ever unites, Syonan wishes to befriend the new nation and extend a branch of peace to the fledgling nation.
  • Events:
    • Unifying Forces: Tidung faces the full wrath of the Synonan military, starting from their foothold on the island.
      • That being said, some members of the government question the invasion, since this invasion has nothing to do with the Philippines itself.
    • Shots Fired: During the invasion, the use of field artillery, essentially taking the naval cannon onto land was used. Stuff of note is that the structure holding up the cannon has a tendency to get stuck, so the need for a new “superstructure” for the cannon is needed.

Turn XLIV: 1390 AD - 1395 AD []

KdM1390-1395A

Great People & Events[]

  • Ashen Lion (Epilogue): River Mordue continued her campaign into Valcanor, managing to capture the city of Bordeaux and continuing south to Toulouse. Despite the success in Valcanor, the French manages to capture Paris and stubbornly holds it. Ashe tries his best to pick up after his mother, though still struggles with ruling properly. River Mordue helped him along the way though, becoming the mentor to an apprentice. On the other news, rumors spread in court about Mordue in regards to Artoria's dissappearance. She still maintains she does not know where Artoria was or that she was not involved, though it did not do much to quell rumors. By the time of her passing in 1393, alternate rumors has spread about the legend of the Lost Queen, that Mordue was responsible for Artoria's demise. Though the peasants believed otherwise.
  • White Snow Wolf (Part 3): Fiete came a long way for this, with her military experience she led armies under the command of the late queen. With a stroke of luck, she manages to take down Danemark, occupying its territories by 1392. Like her mentor before her, the old queen was on the brink of death without an heir. She gained the trust of the old queen, and was offered to become her heir herself, as the old queen did not trust anyone else. Despite Fiete's age being in her in her 50s, she accepted. By 1393, the late queen passed, and Fiete ascended to become the ruler of Vestkyst. During one of her campaigns with her own knights, she found a young boy on her travels. He wished to become her "steed", he was French and came a long way to help her after hearing stories of her part in the Roundtable. She couldn't get rid of him, so she reluctantly accepted him to be her ward/apprentice like those before her. The young boy's name is Morgan de Noyon. As the new ruler of Vestkyst, Fiete sets her sights on the final enemy: Svearike.
  • Horseman of Famine (Finale): After the fall of Bulibaliq to Qarshid forces, and the flight of the Great Khans, their whereabouts slowly disappeared along with their people, they moved to an unknown location around the Caucasus (probably south) after landing in the Golden Horde. Though, Dogar Khan, with his Sword of the East brought refugees south into OTL Azerbaijan (Orientia). Taihou Khatun, with her portable cannon, also followed sooner after. Both the Great Khans disappeared into legend, as that is how their whereabouts grew unknown.
  • Timur the Lame: They take down Georgia by 1392, collapsing their armies into the sand, while the Qarshids plow through OTL Iraq (Grane) to take it from the Ahuric Empire.
  • Iberian Border Readjustment: A union has formed between Leon and Castile, with Castile being the senior partner. Soon after, the Union between the two kingdoms blossomed into the United Kingdom of Castile and Leon. The borders with Agousta are readjusted, they gaining some land north including the cities of Portucale and Braga, but lost some land to the southeast to Castile-Leon.
  • The fall of "Southern Rome": A powerful Berber general overthrows Atlas in a amazing feat of conquest, forming the Tlemcen dynasty. While the bedrock of Atlas is essentially there, whatever argument for it still being Roman has been uprooted into a dynasty system akin to OTL Odoacer in Italy.
  • Hellenic Christianity: With the peaceful negotiations between the Church of Apollo and the Hellenic Church of Christ the tensions begin to calm down in most regions but radicals still engage in fights with one another, but they mainly remain as street fights. The king of Cyrenai is insulted by these meetings, but his son finds interest in the arguments given by the Hellenics, turning Christian himself and getting baptised in secret.
  • Aspiration for Reunification: Ying, with its capital in Nanjing, sets out reunify China under their banner. They conquer Dongzhou and Shanghai, and encroached upon the city of Lanxi, under the sovereignty of Wenzhou. Meanwhile, the Qin, who realised the ambitions of the Ying minnows, conquered Tiezhou to build up their own powerbase for a future conflict.
  • Feud of the East: a succession crisis arises witjh the death of King Tapani the III of Inkeri. His first and only son, Jeremia is to take the throne, but many nobles thought Jeremia was unfit to rule, being a drunkard and of aggressive nature. Kapriel Tevansurma (Daeva's death), the son of Tapani the III's sister conspires with many other nobles to overthrow Jeremia. Kapriel had won the loyalty of many nobles in the wars led by Tapani, proving to be a capable and charismatic man. He spoke privately to Jeremia, trying to convince him to give up the crown to someone else. He was imprisoned but then escaped with the help of some nobles. Jeremia was coronated in Kiaranlahti, 1391. Kapriel travelled in hiding to Varntio and began gathering the support of several major noble families. The developing conspiracy arrives to Jeremia's ears and he begins a manhunt for Kapriel. Kapriel takes over Varntio with his allies and the assassins and soldiers sent to Varntio to capture him are killed. Most of the south pledges allegiance to Kapriel, but many northern lords pledge allegiance to Jeremia. The first major battle is the Battle of Varntio, where Jeremia is beaten back. Laatokanlinna, Aalepori, Geldstadt and Peipsinpohja are taken, leaving Jeremia with only his main army in Kiaranlahti and some tiny regiments here and there. During this conflict the some of the regions conquered by Tapani defect, as local lords see a chance to create their own kingdoms. Kapriel makes an alliance with Rostov, marrying the Rustovaic princess, Eeden in 1394.
  • Ifari War: Ifari capitulates, with all their land falling into Sumalian hands. The Ifarian government and several thousand loyalists fled to Adal in the dark of night, unknown to the invaders, plotting in secret a way to reclaim their land. The city of Fagal, occupied by both Yemen and Sumali on each half, remains a contention point in the peace deal, and Yemen shows no sign of relenting without establishing control over the Bab-el-Mandeb strait.
  • Song of the Sands II: The Aresians begin a coup, supported by Mauretanian Aresians. They take control of Timbuktu and Araouane. Gao also defects to join the two other cities to form Aretis-Songhai.
  • The Pound Lock: The first true Pound Lock is built in Damme, Bruges. It's used by several ships and merchants and the idea begins to spread with the word of traders everywhere in Europe.

NPC Turns[]

  • Svartheim: They suffer a devastating civil war and are get split into three parts: Dacia, Helborg (Moldavia), and Svartheim itself. Haemus breaks free and pushes Svartheim to a line between Seupi and Bonen.
  • Jochureon: They capture all territory from OTL Manchuria, ending the eternal conflict between Korean states and the (northern) Zhuang.
  • Vilmnatz: Using the Svartheim civil war to their benefit, they annex Esterborg and Toraissa, giving them access to the Black Sea.
  • Yemen: Fearing a Sumalian control of one end of the Bab-el-Mandeb, they declared war on Ifari, setting siege on Fagal. The Sumalians and the Yemenis are now in an awkward position where each controls half of the city of Fagal and no one knows what should be done.
  • Hejaz: An internal crisis ensues within the state, leading to the ruling family being massacred by unknown forces. Pro-Isetium officials, who have since taken over the country, has offered their vassalage to Isetium, expecting it to provide them a means of protection.
  • Vietnam: They pull out of the war against Sukhothai, having annexed Phan Rang, Prey Nokor and surround lands, to focus in internal affairs.
  • Kutai: With their capital fallen to an assault from Syonan, they offer a peace treaty, allowing full annexation.
  • Johor: They push up ever deeper into Sukhothai territories. A series of naval campaigns see them liberating the Khmer territories, and these are unified with core Johor lands under a new name: Khmerlacca.

  • Diplomacy -
    • Naples - We are the two most dominant powers in the area of Italy, it would be great if we had an alliance together or least some non agression pact or trade agreement to bring us two closer.
  • Events
    • Rule, Roma - To prepare for possible expansion, 5 warships and pocket warships are built
    • A Merchant for us to - If an alliance with Naples is secured, we will be with an even stronger economy, if not, we are still quite strong, anyways, with these economic expansions, gunpowder starts going in a bit in some markets, and our cities are getting stronger
    • A Man from the East - One day, a man showed up in Rome, he spoke an unknown tongue and wore strange chlothes, it luck for him that in that day there was a merchant who happened to know who was saying, and got the stuff tied up, it was no other than Red Bear, he claimed that after leaving the ships he went on his way back over to Yakutia hopefully, but that he was kidnapped by pirates, he managed to escape their holding cells at Rabat, where he hijacked a ship and sailed East, but when he blown off course into the Papal States, he then somehow ended up in Rome. Red Bear challenged the leader of the Italia Branch of the Round Table to duel, one which he won in a narrow fight, afterwards, he converted to Catholocism and took charge of the Italia Branch somehow, though racist sentiments did slow him down, he became a well known and respected member of the Order, he now plans to stay in the Papal States until he dies.

    • Parliament: the Council with no actual factions present.
    • Royal Families: although de-jure Vedenia is a republic, de-facto it is an oligarchy controlled by a few biggest families who battle over the dominance in Vedenia. On the other hand, there is still quite a high social mobility and sometimes even the poorest becomes the richest.
    • Andriy Levystsky has been a prominent figure in Kyiv and Vedenia as a whole since it got seized from the Daevites. Before becoming Ceasar, he was the mayor of Kyiv, who managed to rebuild the city after chaos and destruction. • the Lutsk act: Vedenia spans enormous land, involving a variety of people all across the east of Europe. Andriy Levytsky holds the idea of weakening the centres in Lutsk, Kyiv-Chernobyl, and Minsk and embracing local authorities in provinces. Kingdom of Lustria | 'The Eternal Kingdom of the Lizard Gods'[]

KDM Lustria Final 18
  • Government: Centralised tribal monarchy

    • Army:
      • 40 'Lizard Warriors' (clubmen with wooden with 'sparsely metallic' shields)
      • 150 'Rainforest Warriors' (spearmen)

At this point, the tale of Lustria and how it came to be is coming to an end.

  • Diplomacy:
    • Megas Athenais: Let's attack Dysia now. We'll split up their lands between us.
  • Events:
    • Osnerol Man (the rest of the story): After his coup d'etat, Cuitlaxelo Witzo started off as a somewhat decent, if not odd, ruler. But after seven years, he became increasingly tyrannical, which historians have attributed to a head injury he sustained due to tripping and falling after being chased by a flock of angry birds when he tried to steal his advisor's pet flamingo. In 1385, he got into an argument over his heir apparent when he presented him with an overcooked meal, which got physical and resulted in the heir getting killed. (His other sons were either dead or physically/mentally crippled and unfit to rule.) The following year, Hoko Katzo's son, Tepu Suhotz (less of a Grecoboo than his father) launched a coup on Cuitlaxelo Witzo and killed him, declaring himself king.
    • Infrastructure and Stuff: The sewer systems built during Hoko Katzo's reign are expanded. Also, the road system is expanded.

        Mandatories1395

Breakdown of the combined Yin-tsu Mandatories in 1395 by political faction.

      • Wang Nëng [I] (elected 1377-1382)
      • Hëng Sin [J] (elected 1382-1392)
      • Jien Shu [N] (elected 1392-)
    • The Mandatories (Yin-tsu Parliaments/Congress):
      • Senate:
        Yintsusenate1395

Breakdown of the Yin-tsu Senate in 1395 by political faction.

The Senate is elected by the people (all adult males with no history of criminal activity) every 2 years. Senators can serve unlimited terms, provided they are re-elected. A senator serves a single senatory. The Senate currently has 216 members.
      • House of Lords:
        Yintsulords1395

Breakdown of the Yin-tsu House of Lords in 1395 by political faction.

1 representative from the 3 most influential noble families in each parish is chosen (from within the families) to stand in the House of Lords. The Heavenly Messenger can also apppoint life peerages. The House of Lords currently has 104 members.
      • Ecclesiastic Chamber:
        Yintsuecclesiastes1395

Breakdown of the Yin-tsu Ecclesiastic Chamber in 1395 by political faction.

The Ecclesiastic Chamber is handpicked by the Patriarch of Constatinople and the Archbishop of Chiko.
In 1395, the Old Families hold 114 seats in the Mandatories (33 in the Senate, 74 in the House of Lords, and 7 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
In 1390, the Jungñen hold 105 seats in the Mandatories (84 in the Senate, 16 in the House of Lords, and 5 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
In 1390, the Religious Front hold 146 seats in the Mandatories (24 in the Senate, 3 in the House of Lords, and 119 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
        • The Goths: This faction represents the interests of the Crimean Gothic population (numbering around 85,000 within the Yin-tsu nation). In 1390, the Goths hold 19 seats (15 in the Senate, 1 in the House of Lords, and 3 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
        • The Varangians: This faction represents the interests of the Varangian population (numbering around 65,000 within the Yin-tsu nation). In 1390, the Varangians hold 14 seats (9 in the Senate, 2 in the House of Lords, and 3 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
        • The Bonrics: This faction represents the interests of the Davans and Khazars of Yin-tsu (numbering around 23,000 and 12,000 respectively), as well as the interests of other steppe peoples in the country. In 1390, the Bonrics hold 11 seats (8 in the Senate, 1 in the House of Lords, and 2 in the Ecclesiastic Chamber).
The Radicals hold 4 seats in the Senate. One of the more influential Radical senators would be Zyën Çu, who would write "The Mandate of Heaven", one of the first political satires ever written.

    • Lamps! Lamps!: Stylish lamps! That's what the newest craze for the well-off of Yin-tsu is! Almost overnight, several stores offering fancy lamps for sale, including one in the east side of Taganrog purported to be owned by Admiral Gamerliq's wife, have popped up across the nation. Get your lamps fast!
    • To Show You The Power of Flex Tape...: With our new alliance and trade pact with our neighbors to the east, we begin construction of a great road (ostensibly to be as great as the Roman roads of old), traversing the Republic from west to east, and connecting Chiko, Armafa, Aragat, and Taganrog to each other and to the rest of Europe by way of Vedena. This road will then continue to the east, where (God and our allies willing) it will continue on to Itil and Astrakhan on the Caspian Sea. There, we will fund the construction of a new and great port at Astrakhan, in order to deal with trade in the Caspian Sea. We also send envoys to the Qarshid Empire, asking them (on behalf of our alliance) for trade ties between their Caspian ports and Astrakhan. This way, we will reopen the Silk Road and the lucrative spice trade.
  • Diplomacy:
    • Vedena: We wholeheatedly accept.
    • Don, Circassia: Can you let us build roads through your countries? Don't worry, we're just reopening the Silk Road.

    • Lavender City
      • Location: Eastmost Tidung
      • The location of the landing for Syonan forces on mainland Tidung. This serves as a southern naval base for the Syonans, as well as a trading port along the aquatic silk road (if that makes any sense)
    • Kutei
      • Location: Tidung
      • The base of operations for forces in the South-eastern region, this region contains more unrest than any territory taken during the unification of the Philippines, mainly due to this invasion being done by a foreign power.

    • Type 001 Yajiri Torpedo Mod. 1386: A new hull design for the torpedo is designed, to provide more stability for the Torpedo as it flows across the water.
    • Subarashi Kulog Taihou MkIV: Small improvements are made to the cannons, improving reliability at sea.
      • The army version takes lessons from the war in Southeast Asia and implements modifications to allow for ease of transport of the field artillery.
    • Bakuchiku MkI: A more powerful cannon is being developed, complete with both a larger calibre of gun as well as the ability for the gun to be breech-loaded. The Bakuchiku cannon. Completion of the new cannon will be complete by the turn of the century.
      • These ships will mount about twenty cannons per side, as well as have thicker hulls to mitigate any damage from potential torpedoes that could fall into enemy hands.

    • Kutai: Syonan accepts their peace treaty. Though officially, Kutei is annexed by the Syonans, they maintain a decent amount of autonomy, being allowed to govern themselves. However, they are subjected to answer to the Syonan government and whatnot.
  • Events:
    • Healing Wounds: Time is taken to mend the wounds caused during the invasion of the regions taken. Mixed signals were sent; while they are invaders, the Syonans were “apologizing” for the loss of life and whatnot, as new projects begin sprouting up in the region, mainly to improve both relations with the locals as well as improve the infrastructure of the captured regions.

Turn XLV: 1395 AD - 1400 AD []

KdM1395-1400A

Great People & Events[]

  • White Snow Wolf: On 1397, the Kalmar/Scandinavian Union is formed after Queen Fiete Kjær launched an extraordinary offensive to reach Svearike's capital and capture their ruler off guard by the swiftness of the campaign. Everyone thought it would take months, not days. Caught with their pants down, Svearike surrendered with the capture of their King. Though, there are cases of resistance in northern and eastern Svearike. With a proof of unity, Fiete formed the Union between the three nations. Additionally, a town near Oslo was renamed to Astridstad in honour of her late aunt.
  • Feud of the East II: After the fall of Laatokanlinna in 1395, many nobles had sawn what awaited Jeremia's crown and defected. Most joined Kapriel, others were overthrown by other noble families who swore fielty to Kapriel. The kings of Karelia and Livonia denounced Jeremia's claim to the crown (presumably because of pressure from Kapriel's diplomats) and joined Kapriel. Haapalehto also defected, leaving only the lords of the Gulf of Finland and the Savonian lords, who had little interest in the outcome of the war, on Jeremia's side. Jeremia packed everything he had into the defense of Kiaranlahti and the Karelian Isthmus. The two armies met south of Kiaranlahti, where both forces had roughly 20 000 men. Kapriel had another force sail across Lake Ladoga to encircle the other army, diverting his forces, eventually forcing Jeremia to retreat to Kiaranlahti with heavy losses. The siege lasted for six days with constant bombardment by catapults and trebuchets. Kiaranlahti was left a ruin, the royal palace a mausoleum. Jeremia fled the city to the village of Viipuri, hoping to flee to Svearike. He spent two days in Viipuri, before facing a siege again, where he got drunk one last time, before being murdered by his wife. She yelled to end the siege and brought Jeremia's corpse to Kapriel and at the shock and surprise of Kapriel's reaction, she slit her own throat. Jeremia had been disloyal and a drunk, but his wife had still loved him, and killed herself as a punishment for killing her husband, childless. The war for the crown was over. The rebuilding began quickly, but Kiaranlahti was too destroyed to remain the capital. Kapriel began building a new royal palace in Varntio, and moving the central government there in 1396, as the city had protected him and been his home for most his life. Kapriel unifies Inkeri and Rostov at his coronation, crowning himself as the emperor of the Keisairvalta of the East.
  • Kung Wu take down: Another warring states era of China, it was an era of division. It all changed when the Qin nation attacked. A Qin Emperor who prefers to go by a strange name combination (at the time) of Wu Qin (or Qin Wu), went on a hell-bent speedy conquest of southern China. During his conquest, he loved challenging opponents to duels himself, only taking nothing but a staff. Many called him mad, but he somehow managed to defeat his enemies with a staff and the intimidating sounds of crazed bloodthirsty laughter. Under his campaign, southern China would be fully united by the end of the century. However, he only conquered territories east of Qin. But shortly after this, the Wu dynasty rises to power on Qin, though many would call it the "False Wu" as the Emperor is not directly from the Wu family bloodline.
  • Crusade of Viena: The Orthodox faith had been spread to the East, but in many cities the pagan rulers had began persecutions and even burned churches and missionaries. The King of Karelia declares a crusade on Kholmgory, after the massacre of Christians in Vienanjoki. Karelian forces cross over to Kholmgory and a fleet arrives to Vienanjoki, taking the city for Karelia, but a majority of Kholmgory, which is just woodlands and hamlets remain unclaimed
  • Ancient Pride: Valcanor, the kingdom dating back before the dawn of the Romans and the dominant power of Iberia, had now lost that dominance of Iberia with the union of Leon and Castile. Even though the new nation posed no threat to them, the king Agustin III saw this as a threat to the political power of Valcanor. With Bartolo having to retreat to Toulose, the holdings in France were also compromised, further chiseling away at their power.
  • Battle for Thonburi: As the Kingdom Sukhothai continues to crash and burn, the armies of Khmerlacca, Ayutthaya, Luang Prabang and the remnants of Sukhothai loyalists converge on the old capital. The Ayutthayans and Luang Prabangans make a deal and forge an alliance on the spot, such as the 3 forces face off in skirmishes and battles in and around the city. Beginning in 1399, this would be the last battle in the 14th century, to be continued in the 15th.

NPC Turns[]

  • Yolngu: The war ends in a stalemate, though merchants are unhappy with the war at home, some move to an outpost along the coast of Papua New Guinea. It was not long until they come into contact with Syonans again, who are the only people they are willing to interact with.
  • Albion: They push Valcanor forces down to a line on Andorra (roughly the borders Spain/France OTL). They offer Valcanor peace, with Albion taking its current territories.
  • Valcanor: After being pushed back by the British (Albion), they give up and reluctantly accepted the peace (for now).
  • Atouman: Bayed "the Thunderbolt" was known for his quickness of his conquests for new Atouman territories. Taking an advantage of the Byzantine Empire's stagnation, he rushed the Byzantines down to Athens after a period of conflict and annexed its territory. Soon after, emboldened by his recent conquests and the growing power of the Atouman army, he managed to subjugate Svartheim in a medieval blitzkrieg like effect. It too fell under the Atoumans' territories list; absorption.
  • Eskosia: The crown annexes Karpatya via inheritance
  • Avaria: Due to troubling crises from succession or legitimacy, Karpatya breaks away and becomes inherited by Eskos crown while Vrezla becomes independent as "Vrezia"
  • Qarshid: They agree to Yin-tsu's request, as long as they get a cut of the profit.

    • Lore: While the Merina people have lived on the island of Madagascar for a long time, the petty kingdom of Merina (also including otl Mayotte) has existed for only 15 years (at the year 1400). Ruled by petty kings, the Merina people believe in Zanahary, the personification of the sky aka God, the almighty creator. According to legend, Zanahary sent down his son (Andrianerinerina, say that five times fast) to Earth to interact with the inhabitants. Andrianerinerina settled down as a sheepherder and Zanahary warned the already existing Merina people to not cook the flesh of Andrianerinerina's (fuck it calling him Andria from now on) sheep because he could not consume it. Still one of them ended up cooked and then fed to Andria. By eating the forbidden mutton, he was no longer allowed into heaven in this Garden of Eden situation. Zanahary then gave the Merina a choice: untie the threads of their life aka D I E or accept Andria as their lord and master. They chose not to get yeeted and thus Andria became the true king. Zanahary then sent down Andriamantria, one of his daughters to become the wife of Andria and thus the royal line of Ammagari (descending from Amma, the Malagasy word for God) was started and the true beginning of the Kingdom of Imerina began.

      • Rihat I (1380 - 1392)
      • Koragos II (1392 - present)
  • Economy: The end of the Heretic Crusade has proved fruitful for trade, as trade with the Caldeans is now acceptable based off of the absence of the Ilkhanate.
    • Population: 5,600,000 (63% Egyptian, 15% Arameans, 12% Assyrian, 5% Israelite, 5% Other)
    • Religion: 71% Hellenic Christian, 23% Pagan, 4% Judaism, 2% Zoroastrianism, ~1% Other)

    • Timur The Lame: Yeah, don't invade please.
  • Events:
    • Apolloites: Although differential in denomination, it is ultimately the ideas of faith through unity that binds Christianity together. Meetings of peaceful conversations and scholarly debates take place in Isisia, Alexandria, Antipyrgos, and Cyrene.
    • Timur's Heresy: The expansion of the Qarshid Empire into the Ahuric territory has lead to re-militarization. Although diplomats are sent to ask for Timur to not invade Isetium, it's likely his response won't be positive.

Conclusion[]

The year is 1400. The crusades have risen and gradually dispersed in its popularity. Yet, in its place, individual heroes. The Medieval ages may be a time of strife, turmoil, poverty, and death. But it also spawned an era of heroes, individuals who had taken up the mantle to change the course of history like their ancestors, but in greater detail. A few stood out, ranging from sinners (Bulijin Khatun) to saints (Artoria II Pendragon), and those in between the struggle. The struggle of history is not yet over.

The hordes of Timur the lame erupted across, with dreams to become like the Great Khans of the Tuvans, Mongols, Daevites, and the Altaics before him. The virtually unstoppable rise of the Atoumans sounded alarms in Europe, with many being unable to properly deal with them. Asia continuously had its fair share of intellectuals, heroes, and villains that prompted a perpetual unity and collapse partly thanks to various factors like xianism. The unknown new world is filled with endless possibilities. Africa has, at times, found the way. Australia is forming its land of unknown beasts. Europe is still somewhat of a backwater, but things are still looking up. After all, it is the birth of a new century, the birth of a new era, the birth of a new renaissance.

Thank you for playing, and see you in Konig des Menschen VI!

A word from those that stood out from the rest

  • Artoria II Pendragon (Ember): I suppose I should give a few words before departing for Avalon. Don’t let anyone else decide what you should do. It is your life; make the most of it. Until we meet again, master friends.
  • Sicily Man: Remain hopeful, you never know where you might end up. Farewell to you great men and women, who will turn the clocks of history once more, as have I!
  • Tomoe: I suppose that I am lucky to be here …bye-bye!
  • Bulijin Khatun: I’m surprised I am well liked despite history judging me as a villain. Maybe people do understand that there is more than one side to a coin. I guess this is a farewell. I wonder who will be next on the list?
    • Ojirou Souji: I’m still waiting for the ice cream… >:T
