The Confederation of Ostrija (Croatian:Konfederacija Oštrija) more commonly known as just Ostrija is a nation set in the western Balkans bordered by Italy and the Adriatic in the west, Austria and Hungary in the north, and Albania, Bosnia, Montenegro, Romania, and Serbia in the east. The Confederacy is made up of Slovenia, Croatia, Vojvodina, and parts of Western Bosnia, the latter two being gained in the Third Balkan War. Ostrija is one of the second most populated country in the western Balkans and the biggest in area in the region as well. The country has remained in the EU and NATO from the transition from Slovenia/Croatia into Ostrija and has the Euro as the main currency.
History[]
Pre-Union Days[]
Before the Union of Ostrija, Croatia, Kosovo, and Albania made a secret alliance to protect against Serbian aggression after a nationalist was elected President in a emergency election after the former president and vice president died in 2019. After the pact was formed, the Croatian government was afraid of internal rebellions of the remaining Serb majority towns and territories which almost ruined Croatia during the Yugoslav wars. So to hopefully protect this from happening again the government kept eye on the towns with advanced systems of survalience. In 2020 many of the Serbian towns received shipments from Srpska which they smuggled across the border, which the government presumed may have came into Srpska from Serbia. This worried the government as they feared a war was soon approaching, which indeed was the case when in 2020, Serbia declared war on Kosovo, drawing in Croatia.
