I assume. Unless it evolved like Housepets (that comic I've shown you, where animals are still used as pets and/or property, depending on the country), Beastars (anime where carnivores still have strong hunting instincts) or Brand New Animal (anime where furries are banished into a megalopolis) universes. It's weird how much anime I've watched recently (because of the new furry stuff), considering I tend to dislike it...
Still, they're basically as intelligent as humans (meaning it's kind of immoral to keep them as pets, imho) and I kind of (politically) sympathize with a certain character, who appears a bit later (early considering the timeline of the comic) in the comic.
I have a question. Is it common for British kids and teens to watch cartoons/animated shows from all over the world? Because here in Slovenia it's totally normal for kids to watch various shows from the US, western Europe, Japan (children's anime) and even from Brazil, India, China or South Korea (probably because Slovenia has few cartoons of it's own). It's also a bigtradition to watch old eastern European showsliketheseones.
Seriously, the comic takes a nice twist very soon from that one comic - (spoilers) and the PETA guy is at the center of it (a̶n̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶g̶u̶y̶ ̶b̶e̶c̶o̶m̶e̶s̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶i̶m̶p̶o̶r̶t̶a̶n̶t̶ ̶c̶h̶a̶r̶a̶c̶t̶e̶r̶ ).
At least your mom had said sth pro-lgbt unlike mine, she is very homophobic along with my father sadly, so I can't tell them that I am bi, I mean I will when I'll be 18, but I have to hide for 2.5 years
