Name[]

Etymology[]

There is no absolute idea of Karianka's name, but the most common view is it's a Turkish origin word. It's a compound word with "kar" that means snow in Turkish, and "ankâ" that means Phoenix in Turkish and Islamic mythology. Historians explain that as "Turks named Karanese people as "karanka(lar)" that means snow phoenix because they were never giving up and their land was full of snow".
