Nathan Mapping, mononymously known as Nathan or Matthew, or Nathan Maps on youtube, is a Hungarian former mapper based in Várpalota, Hungary. They are mostly notable for their wikia achievements rather than the achievements on their channel.
History[]
Early life[]
I was born on 24th September 2004 in Várpalota to dad and mom . There are rumours in my family that I'm of Romanian descent from my dad's side, and Italian & German descent from my mom's side.
Between 2004 and March 2008 I was raised in the town of Pétfürdő. This time of my life had some impact on me due to living together with my grandmother who has been such an inspirational person through my first twelve years of existance. However, my parents decided to move back to Várpalota in March 2008 due to unknown reasons. We were living together with my grandparents from my moms's side. This period of my life could easily be described as the "I'm happy but my grandparents are alway arguing" era.
Studies[]
I enrolled in elementary education in September 2011. After 5 years in my first school, I changed and started attending a different one due to the toxic environment in the former. Following my elementary studies, I got into the same high school as the prime minister of Hungary and have been studying here for the 4th year now. The first 2 years were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the quarantine periods due to that, resulting in an enormous drop in my average grades. The 3rd and 4th years were on full swing, giving me the best high school averages, both at least 4.00. Although I don't plan on applying to university, I will in fact finish my secondary education in order to obtain a matura exam, which is often a requirement in the world of work.
Success on Discord[]
I have been available on Discord since June 2019 however I did not become really active until 3 months later. Initially only part of mapping servers, I began competing in fan contests, going as far as having my own one, which lasted 15 editions before being cancelled due to personal issues.
Personal life[]
I have been in 2 relationships from both sexes throughout my 18 years of existence.
I have come out as bisexual on 26th February 2020, firstly to my closest friends. Coming out to my mother came on the summer of 2022 before my second relationship ended.
On 20th June 2021, I came out as genderqueer to other fellow MBU directors. Later this was corrected and since then I label myself as non-binary.
Mapping[]
Having founf mapping in 2014-2015 I had been eager to begin my career in the community. I created my first mapping channel in 2015, which achieved no success. After losing access to that channel, and being cut off from the online world, I returned during Fall of 2018.
I announced on the 16th April, 2021 that I'd not be doing mapping anymore. This was due to my lack of interest and time as well as plans on other projects such as running the Altervision Song Contest.
My style has been influenced by many mappers, with the most notable mappers being Finn Mapper, MikiPL004 and Frkon.
On the wiki[]
I joined the wiki on 7th March 2019, at the beginning I only participated in Mappervision. However, ever since then I have become more and more active there.
On 26th June 2020 I have been promoted to Chat moderator on the wiki, and Junior moderator on TFoE Discord server.
Other ventures[]
Since 6th April 2020, I have been competing in online music contests on Discord. I also manage my own one, which has been relatively successful compared to other ones.
In real life, I am also part of the school choir, and soon enough I wish to begin my solo career as a singer-songwriter.
