Welcome to Breached, a map game exploring Europe in 2040, 20 years after the breakup of the European Union.

Introduction[]
Welcome, my friend. You've been transformed into the universe of Breached. In this universe, some things are different from the universe you live in. Looking at the map, you will notice some things as France and Britain being united. Iberia and Italy are broken apart, while North Africa actually is united! Now what happened?
It all started in 1066. When William the Conqueror conquered the throne of England, he decided not to stay in Britain and to return to Normandy. This historical decision led to Britain losing it's independence to Normandy, a vassal state of the Kingdom of France. After William's death, his son, Robert Curthose, managed to overthrow the Philip the Amorous, the king of France, and was crowned King himself, thus uniting the crowns of Normandy and France.
Meanwhile, Spain does not manage to unite during the reconquista, leading to Iberia being divided in states as Galicia, Castillia, Basque, Aragon, Porto, Lisbon and Andalusia.
After World War I, Germany is divided into two nations, while Austria suffers heavily from the Treaty of Versailles. But after suffering from two world wars, Europe manages to recover and to unite.
Everything goes well in the European Union, untill...
...untill Franglia votes to leave the European Union. After Frexit, the Union is lost. By 2020, the union has only a few members, thus being disbanded.
Two decades long chaos reigns over Europe, with wars erupting almost every year. Millions have died in major and minor conflicts between nations and people. Will there ever be a dawn of relief? Can you stop Europe from breaching even further?
