Alpenia, officially the Federal Republic of Alpenia, is a federal republic in Europe. The country is situated in Central Europe, exactly around the Alps. It is bordered by Germany and the Czech Republic to the North, Slovakia and Hungary to the East, Croatia and Italy to the South, and France to the West. Alpenia is one of the most developed country in the world. Alpenia has joined many organizations, like United Nations and the European Union.
History[]
Old Swiss Confederacy[]
The Old Swiss Confederacy was an alliance among the valley communities of the central Alps. The Confederacy facilitated management of common interests and ensured peace on the important mountain trade routes. By 1353, the three original cantons had joined with the cantons of Glarus and Zug and the Lucerne, Zürich and Bern city states to form the "Old Confederacy" of eight states that existed until the end of the 15th century. The expansion led to increased power and wealth for the confederation [1]. The Old Swiss Confederacy continued to expand their territory.
French Revolutionary Wars[]
During the French Revolutionary Wars, France invaded Switzerland in 1798, but the invasion was failed. Shortly after that, with help from Austria, Swiss invaded France. It resulted by Swiss-Austria victory, and then they annexed Burgundy, Alsace, and other part of East France.
Merge with Austria and Bavaria[]
After victory of the war[note 1], in the Congress of Vienna (1815), Switzerland and Austria finally merged as Alpenia, and later Bavaria joined to merge. Since that, Alpenia was officially formed in 1816, but later became part of German Confederation, meanwhile French-spoken language (except area of former Old Swiss Confederacy before the French Revolutionary Wars) became separate state, although it was still part of the confederation.
Full Independence from German Confederation[]
In 1848, Kingdom of Alpenia declared independence, and later Alpenia absorbed Baden and Wüttemberg into Alpenia's territory. French-spoken language was also included as part of Alpenia. [note 2]. The government was monarchy.
World War I[]
Alpenia joined WWI in Central Powers's side. But, in the war, Alpenia lost some areas to the Allied, after Bohemia, Slovakia, and Moravia were occupied by Russia. In this war, East Alpenia (Hungary, Czechoslovakia) gained independence, but Alpenia gained North Italy after their invasion was success. After the war, Alpenia became a parliamentary republic. Later, Alpenia started its neutrality policy.
Modern history[]
Today, Alpenia is well-developed nation. Alpenia is good at economy with GDP per capita reaches US$75,000. Munich, Vienna, and Zürich are three of center commercial cities in Europe. Alpenia is also popular tourist destination, it is because Alpenia has diverse, beautiful, and attractive landscape.

Alpenia is the largest music market in Europe. There are many notable composers and musicians from Alpenia. In the 18th - 19th century, classical music was popular in Alpenia. One of city, Vienna has been important center of the musical innovation, and is regarded as "capital of classical music". Later in the beginning of 20th century, folk musics become more popular. It is still popular until now in various rural areas.
The most popular music in 21st century is rock, jazz, hip hop, and electronic. These genres are very popular in urban areas. Electronic genre is more popular in large cities, with various nightclubs can be found there.
Alpenia has participated in music contests, such as Eurovision Song Contests and Mappervision Song Contest.
Sports[]
Alpenians enjoy sport activities and most of them have a regular sport activity. Association football and ice hockey are most popular sport in Alpenia. Winter sports are also popular in Alpine region. Headquarters of international sports federations are located in Alpenia, such as International Olympic Commitee in Lausanne. Two Alpenia's most popular sport, football's and ice hockey's governing body are located in the capital, Zurich.
Football is very popular throughout the country. Football Association of Alpenia was formed in 1900, and was a founder member of FIFA. FAA is also member of MIFF. Since its first appearance in 1934, Alpenia national football team has always participated in every FIFA World Cup tournaments. The team is one of successful national team in the world, with having won three FIFA World Cups (1954, 1974, 2014). In their latest tournaments, Alpenia won 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and finished as runners-up in 2017 EFC European Cup. Alpenian Super League is top tier division football league in Alpenia. Bayern Munich and Juventus are most successful teams in the league.
