The 2020 World Cup of Chess is the first world cup organized by the Mapperdonian Chess Federation. It is scheduled to take place from 9th - 20th August 2020 in Greater Czechia following the nations succesful bid. All 42 members of the federation will compete.
Format[]
The event is scheduled to consist of a Qualifying round for each federation, a group stage and the final matches. The host nation will automatically qualify to the group stage.
The qualifying rounds are planned to be played in late May, early June, in 2020. Each QR will be hosted in a different nation that had been chosen internally.
